From the NY Times:

The [Nigerian] government, after lengthy negotiations, handed over “some Boko Haram suspects held by authorities” in exchange for 82 of the girls, according to a statement from a spokesman for President Muhammadu Buhari. The statement credited the government of Switzerland, the International Committee of the Red Cross, local and international nongovernmental organizations, the military and security agencies with facilitating the exchange. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/06/world/africa/nigeria-boko-haram-chibok-girls.html

There are kidnapped girls still in captivity. According to the Guardian, 276 were seized when a school was overrun, and Amnesty International estimates that 2000 women and girls have been abducted (and routinely raped and perhaps used as suicide bombers), but thank heavens that at least these 82 girls, who have suffered terribly, are now free. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...as-82-are-freed-by-boko-haram-exchange-prison

Whenever they cut loose criminals in exchange for captives I want to microchip GPS the criminals and catch the rest of them when they get home.
A few hellfire missiles in a criminal gathering may be appropriate as well depending on the judgement of who is in officially charge.

I'm going to continue to pray daily that all those in a position to alert authorities to where the remaining girls and women are will have the courage to do so and will remain safe themselves.

That is some good news. I can't imagine how traumatized they must be.

Having worked there, there is zero support or help available. They will just have to get on with life as best they can.
