Five Telltale Signs of a Crisis Pregnancy Center

The Blaze, PJ Media, Life Site News, Limbaugh, Fox = right wing conspiracy-driven, mindless drivel. There, fixed that.

Yep, definitely agree. I knew "Mashmont" would immediately dismiss DailyKos, but that doesn't make the article any less factual. I trust DailyKos as a reputable news source far more than Litesite News or Fox NOISE. :2wave:

Another quote from the DailyKos article:

Quote (4th paragraph):

"Most CPCs also advertise on billboards, buses, online and sometimes even in college campus health centers with statements like “PREGNANT AND SCARED? CALL US.” or “NEED A FREE ULTRASOUND? WE’RE HERE FOR YOU. WE RESPECT YOUR CHOICE.” Once inside the CPC, though, patients are bombarded with anti-abortion sentiment and lies about the “effects” of abortion—often only after they receive a free ultrasound or take a free pregnancy test and the pregnancy is confirmed. CPCs will sometimes offer free diapers, clothing, and other necessities to low-income pregnant people if they decide not to get an abortion (and then of course throw all care for the family out the window after birth)."

And prolifers want us to think that the people who work at these lying CPCs and engage in these manipulative tactics are "great volunteers?" Nope, not a chance.

Virginia's Right-Wing Crisis Pregnancy Centers Caught on Tape Lying to Women

Tara Culp-Ressler | August 8, 2013

Article Quote (6th paragraph):

"The conversation also quickly took a religious bent. “If you’re not married, why are you having sex?” the CPC counselor asked her client. “That’s why you feel like you have to put these hormones in your body — the more you have sex, the more chance you have of getting pregnant.” Later, she added, 'Confined to a marriage, of course, sex is expected — you believe in God, that’s the whole plan of God.' "

Which, of course, is another big red flag that the woman is at a CPC rather than a real women's clinic and would be better off leaving if she really wants an abortion. The underlined question is highly inappropriate and should never be asked at what is supposed to be a medical consultation.

Do you not understand that the entirety of CPCs as currently operated is a lie. When you advertise on the internet, in yellow pages, on billboards and flyers that one of the options you offer is abortion and your maid objective is to keep a woman from getting an abortion you are propagating a lie. When you tell women that an abortion will make it impossible to get pregnant again, that it damages your uterus, that abortion is dangerous, that it causes breast cancer, that is causes permanent depression you are telling lies. Why don't you look this stuff up yourself? Oh ...... right ........ you want to lie to yourself about the existence of these and other lies.

You have never produced proof that any CPC doesn't advertise itself as pro-life, whereas I have offered evidence that they do. As for abortions, yes, they can indeed mess up a woman's reproductive system, not to mention cause enormous mental anguish and regret. CPC's humanely show alternatives to abortion whereas PP pushes abortion. For money.

An unplanned pregnancy can draw up a wide range of emotions, even in the best of circumstances.
We have been walking with women as they decide how to move forward in their pregnancy for over 30 years. We know that the best way to make a decision like this is in an environment free of judgment and full of support.
In the meantime, we have some information available here on the three main options when facing an unplanned pregnancy:

My Options
Parent
Becoming a parent is a big step. You’re probably wondering, “How can I afford a baby?” or “Will I be able to stay in school?”. People come up with many creative ways to be a parent and still complete their life goals.
Adoption
Adoption is a great option if you decide you just can’t (or don’t want to) take care of a baby right now. You can choose parents for your baby, decide how involved you want to be and provide a future for your baby. And think about it, it’s really only a couple of months out of your life.
Abortion
Abortion is a medical procedure that results in ending a pregnancy by removing the fetus or embryo from the womb before it can survive on it’s own. It can be performed with strong medication or by surgery, and is the only elective surgery that can result in emotional as well as physical side effects. Although abortion may seem to have the quickest immediate outcome, it is as big of a decision as other options and could have lasting effects.
Learn more about risks and side effects in this recent blog.
What should you do first?
Confirm whether you are indeed pregnant with a medical grade pregnancy test. We can help you do this for free* in a safe and confidential environment. There is no cost to you whether the test is positive or negative, and we can answer any questions you may have with honest and current information. We can also perform a free ultrasound.

If you think lying is humane there is something seriously lacking in your religious education.

There's not one single lie. Not one of them promises to perform abortions. They're going to warn you about the pitfalls of abortions, by providing you with information about them. Only in the first example is their position on abortion unclear.

Example #2
"If you are pregnant and considering an abortion, it's important to do these things" -- There is nothing in that which could be construed as endorsing abortion. The clear implication is they will give you information so you do not make such a disastrous decision.

Example #3
"Learn more about risks and side effects in this recent blog." - clearly a warning, not an endorsement.

Let me know when you find a CPC that lied.

You are never going to admit that CPCs are anything but pure hearted people helping women, compassionately and lovingly.

When your grand daughter gets pregnant in her senior year of university, jeopardizing graduation, graduate school with a stipend and a brilliant future she and her mom and dad will head straight for Planned Parenthood not a CPC. It may have already happened. You just haven't found out yet.

First of all, you need to quote what you're asking about, so others know what you're referring to. Second, the lie is when these CPC's pretend to be a "medical clinic" when they clearly aren't.

Exactly. And that's what these CPCs are doing to uninformed women, promoting LIES.

Here's a little CPC gem I found on a site discussing CPCs in Ohio: Crisis Pregnancy Centers under scrutiny - Entertainment - Columbus Alive - Columbus, OH

"Next door at Planned Parenthood, practice manager Jamie Hamilton said she can’t speak specifically to Women’s Care Center’s approach — an acknowledgement that CPCs, which are unregistered and largely unlicensed, can differ greatly from one facility to the next — but she has had patients who’ve come in after visiting CPCs.

“Oftentimes people will come to us ... thinking they’re much further along than they actually are,” she said. “Gestational dating can be inflated. ... We’ve also had people come in, and they’ve said things like, ‘I went to one of these pregnancy centers. They won’t stop texting me. They tell me that they’re going to find out if I did have an abortion. If they call here, will you tell them that I was here?’ And, of course not [is my answer].”

Isn't that an honest, caring, loving thing to do to young girls who are pregnant and don't know what to do. "We're going to find out if you had an abortion. " What those girls need to do is hire a lawyer and sue the bastards for everything they have because that kind of harassment is illegal. But of course the girls don't know that and they haven't a clue how to go about suing.

This is the account of a PP employee, right?

Sure if you want to lie to yourself, it's the account of a PP employee. Mashmont, your dishonesty just knows no bounds does it. Sad.

I am still waiting for him to prove no CPC volunteers ever lie about abortion.

You might want to click on some of the article links and read the material provided to find that out. They are provided throughout this thread. On the other hand, if you believe lying to women to trick them out of having an abortion is okay, you might not have a problem with any of the tactics CPCs use.

Lying to women to trick them out of having an abortion, for one thing, which the quote below outlines. I think it's bad, anyway.

ExposeFakeClinics.com

Quote from Website (2nd and 3rd paragraphs):

"Sometimes called pregnancy resource centers or crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs), fake clinics do NOT provide comprehensive reproductive health care—or much of any "health care" at all! Instead, they use phony ads to trick pregnant people into making an appointment, promising “free ultrasounds” or “pregnancy support.” Once inside, people are lied to, shamed, and pressured about their reproductive health decisions, often delaying their procedure or pushing them past the deadline for a legal abortion altogether.

Fake clinics are often made to look like medical facilities, yet they don't practice medicine (outside of an occasional ultrasound or STI test), nor do they use medical facts or standardized ethics. More and more, these predatory places are funded by taxpayer dollars, impacting poor women and people of color the hardest."

There's more, if you care to read it.

Here's another CPC gem. It comes from Crisis Pregnancy Centers: An Affront to Choice: by the National Abortion Federation. http://prochoice.org/wp-content/uploads/cpc_report.pdf

Although many CPCs claim to provide options counseling both over the phone and in person,62 in reality they do not provide women with information about their full reproductive health options. Women are told that
some birth control methods, especially emergency contraception, or the morning after pill, are actually abortifa- cients.63 CPC representatives also claim that condoms are ineffective both at preventing unintended pregnancy and at protecting against HIV.64 According to CPC brochures and websites, abstinence until marriage is the only method that works both for preventing STDs and pregnancy, and CPCs promote reclaiming virginity or “making a U-turn.”

The ultimate CPC misinformation .......... hilarious!!!!! Reclaiming virginity. LOL:lamo

The pill, in fact, IS an abortifacient as it prevents an embryo from attaching to the uterine wall. Sex outside of marriage is morally wrong. So the CPC's are right on the money. The Christian way is the best way.

Oh, sweetie we're not talking about pills and embryos and marriage and morals we're talking about reclaiming virginity. How does The Catholic Church do that?

Do hooded men come through the streets solemnly bearing new vaginas for naughty girls.

Is it a private or public ceremony. Do people celebrate the new vagina? :2party:

Does the girl get to show off her new vagina :moon:

:2rofll: Reclaiming virginity OMG!!!!!!! Yup, the Christian way is the best way!!!

This is another unverified quote by a far-left extremist source. No evidence at all that is was ever said.

Step back and look at the insanity of this. One the one hand, you have volunteers trying to help young women and protect their babies; versus a team of paid vultures who make $$ on every abortion they get through. They don't care about the girls in the least. They profit when little babies are killed. How on earth do you defend the latter while trashing the former?

What specifically is bad/wrong about CPC's?

The real problem is the money-changers at PP are upset they're profits are being cut into. Secondarily, they don't like Christians trying to encourage a pro-life culture.

The only thing that I see (that has been provided) that sounds "wrong" is giving the female false information that might lead her to delay an abortion past the legal date... but that is just hearsay at this point as I have not seen/heard any real facts about it.

shaming a female is not promoting pro-life... and PP should not be getting public funds if Churches are not... at least that is my thinking right now.
