Just give birth and give it up. Easy-peazy - abortion avoided.

I agree with your points about contraception. But the number of abortions performed per year does not jive with even the most liberal failure rates of contraception so common sense tells the thinking person that the vast majority of aborted babies were conceived without the use of protection.

I disagree however that a pregnant woman not being able to kill the baby is an assault on her freedoms. She was free not to screw. It's all good though because I also understand we will never agree on this. I have a soft spot in my heart for the innocent.

But I do see the benefit to society of baby mama's nipping future thugs and teen sluts in the bud. After all if they can't use birth control successfully over and over again how in the world are they going to manage raising a child? So there is that.

Carry on

It is still forcing the woman to carry the offspring to term against her will no matter how she got pregnant. That is a fact.

How do you define "innocent" for a human life that is no more able to think, perceive, or do anything than the meat on your plate? By the time a fetus is able to act, abortion is impossible, since that happens after birth.

Ok lets call it ten percent if that makes you happy. Same tired ass argument. Makes no difference.

No one is forcing anyone to do anything. These women spread their legs by choice knowing full well what it might lead to. They already made their choice.

This issue is the epitome of the decay of our society and our loss of moral compass.

Women have several choices and have the right to make the choice that fits their need.

That's what pro-choice means...each individual woman decides what is best for her life, her health, her future, her responsibilities to her family/dependents, her obligations and commitments to employer, church, community, society, etc.

This is the barely coherent and grammatically inept speech of a man who desperately wants to be able to claim that he "cured coronavirus."

That's it, in a nutshell. When we do get a handle on this crisis, he wants to be able to pull out footage and declare "I called it! I said use this! I said try this! I told them to do this, it was my idea!" He's just doing it with lots of stupid stuff because he doesnt want to miss an opportunity. He's afraid 'the big one' will be mentioned and he wont get credit for it.

It's all about declaring himself the savior of the cv crisis and we'll hear all about it, esp in his campaign. (Which is basically each of his press briefings these days) --- Lursa

Really? Birth control has at most, in actual practice, a 97% success rate.

OK so:

--2/3s of American couples use bc OR dont need it (infertile, breast feeding, past menopause, etc)

--millions of Americans have sex millions and millions of times every single day.

--With a 3% failure rate of bc...that's still 10s of thousands of accidental pregnancies every single day.

So you may need to adjust your math.

OTOH, by far, most women choose to give birth and the abortion rate goes down every year.

My convictions are my convictions and nothing or no one is gonna change that, so you're barkin' up the wrong tree...rebuttal enough for ya?

Bravo! It's rare to encounter that kind of courage on these threads. Most people would be too embarrassed to publicly admit to having a closed mind. You're to be commended for your frankness.

The truly close-minded are the ones like you...the ones who won't tolerate a conviction different than their own...bravo!

How can that be true when "the ones" you are referring to support "choice?"

Meaning "not aborting" is good too?

What do you mean by support? If you're referring to voting, I support neither because I don't vote, never have, never will, have no reason to...God's laws are written upon my heart...

As I dismiss yours...no true Christian will take an innocent human life before it even begins...no one's snickering at anyone who does...it's more like repulsion...

?? HUH ?? The absolute grand-daddy of abortion provider of all time must be christ himself. How many miscarriages have occurred throughout history? Any idea? Or in one year globally? Miscarriages are "acts of god", and if god and christ are one, then the "good lord" would seem to have no trouble whatsoever taking "an innocent human life before it even begins" !!! Do you even read what you write?

Now I think I understand your comment about being unable to change your convictions. You live an unexamined life, with unexamined beliefs - and you're proud of it!

It means you support women who decided not to have abortions during unwanted pregnancies.

I didn't know you were Lursa, but whatever...I don't know of any personally, thank goodness, but if I did, I would surely attempt to talk them out of it, so no, I don't support taking a human life under any circumstances...

How you try to talk them out of it is extremely important. As someone who believes in what Jesus preached during this three-plus year ministry, you should have no difficulty understanding women need to hear nonjudgmental and respectful words. Telling anyone an abortion is murder will certainly make her stop listening.

Why do you think abortion to save the mom's life would be worse than her own death? Did you ever think about the consequences of dying for the sake of an unwanted baby?

Although it is true that we have one God, the Father is our Creator (and therefore the person who causes miscarriages) and the Son is our Redeemer (better known as Savior). Along with the Holy Spirit (Sustainer), God is one Deity, but three persons. Jesus is really "God in the flesh" and fully human at the same time,*which is why he said, "I and the Father are one." (St. Patrick's Day originated to celebrate the saint's shamrock analogy to explain the Trinity: three leaves on one stem.)

On topic, I learned during health class in high school pregnancy officially begins at implantation, not conception. Now I know why: the inability of most zygotes to implant.

No, nothing about voting. About your criticizing those that support choice...when it means that they support whatever the woman's decision for her need is...and you were calling those "intolerant of conviction.' Pro-choice is the opposite of that...they support whatever choice the woman makes. That is the opposite of 'intolerant.'

Aha. Are the creator and the redeemer in the same book, and on the same page? Or is that "one deity, three persons" schizophrenic? Because it would certainly explain a lot if it were the latter.

"One God, three persons" is the Christian God in the entire Bible.

Actually, that's not true. When a woman's access to abortion is cut off because it has been made illegal, she is forced to stay pregnant and give birth. No woman should have to stay pregnant and give birth against her will as some kind of punishment because she chose to have sex.

Yeah, only the ones who don't know Him say that, though...;)

God did manage to kill off 99 9/10th of humans to show how much he loves humans. No, forget that it wasn't love that killed them it was a God that was unhappy with what his creation turned out to be...So he killed them unborn babies and all...All kneel to the powerful God who will murder yous if you are bad including humans in the womb that never did anything bad...

When a woman's access to abortion becomes limited maybe she will keep her body reserved for more serious encounters. The number of abortions went way up once they were legal. Funny how that works. Sex isn't a frivolous right its a privilege with consequences. Especially for the woman. Which is the big flaw in feminism. Man and woman were not created the same for a reason. Societal "norms" cant change biology.

Don't want an unwanted pregnancy? Don't be a slut. Won't work in every case but it will in most.

Wow. Thanks for your totally misogynistic response. And your obviously biased opinion is dismissed as irrelevant. Thankfully, no one has to live by it. And no woman has to remain celibate for life because she never wants kids. Abstinence, like having children, is also a choice.

Mea culpa for not making that clearer. I wasn't referring to the bible. The expression "on the same page" is a reference to whether or not they're in agreement, or whether they're at odds with one another. In other words, do god and christ speak with one voice.

For the record, miscarriages can and do happen at any time during pregnancies, and I have no reason to suspect there's been any change in that throughout history. Which raises yet another irony. Who can say how many intentionally aborted fetuses would have later been aborted by "acts of god" anyway? That might number in the tens-of-thousands - in which case, the woman's exercise of her reproductive freedom might just as easily have been doing "the lord's work"!

The number of LEGAL abortions went up. There is no way to know the number of illegal abortions that had been happening, but some estimates put it at close to a million. I believe Minnie has info about that.

Don't want an unwanted pregnancy? Don't be a slut. Won't work in every case but it will in most.

And here we have it - the bitterness toward women who have sex.

BTW, most women who abort are in a steady relationship with or married to the man who got them pregnant. That hardly qualifies as being a "slut".
