[W:78]Men not being involved in the abortion debate

I am a female and take the man's side here. I think a man absolutely should be involved in the abortion debate. I am also pro-life and think that until abortion is not an option for a female, a male should have the right to "abort" his rights to a child.

There is no "man's side".

Most will agree that men are fully capable of being involved in the debate.

They just are not involved in the final decision of how to proceed with the pregnancy.

You do realize that a world, where everybody thinks exactly like you, is impossible. What happened in your childhood to make you think the only right opinion was your opinion?

Esp., what have women done to him?

All the more reason why women should be for gun rights.

Because I particularly don't like it when women oppose me on certain specific stuff, one thing I especially don't like women opposing me on is the gun debate.

That was just painful to read.

There are some people who say that since men don't get pregnant and have babies they therefore shouldn't be involved in the abortion debate, no matter what side they might take. What do you all think about that?

I think men should never be able to force women to stay pregnant and give birth against their will, even when a woman they're dating or married to has either considered or has firmly decided to have an abortion. It's not their body that is put at risk by pregnancy and birth. Therefore it should never be their decision.

Also, men should never be able to force a woman to get an abortion either. Whether it's to continue a pregnancy or to abort it, only the woman who is pregnant should make the decision, not the man.

Agreed. If they cant handle a woman making a decision that's solely dependent on her bodily autonomy and rights, he should have the self control to say no to sex with her.

Agreed.

They have an obligation to themselves and to their kids to stand up to mom when mom is wrong, which almost never happens now, because men suck. That is all I was saying.

So are you saying that men "should," according to you, do their best to force their wives to stay pregnant and give birth against their will? And if they don't, "they suck?"

Because if that's what you're saying, I totally disagree. IMO the men who do suck are the ones who would force their wives or girlfriends to stay pregnant and give birth against their will. And that's the type of guy I made it a point to avoid all through my dating days. Thankfully, I was successful in that.

Foolishness. It TAKES a man to make a woman pregnant.

So? That doesn't -- and shouldn't -- give any man the right to force a woman to either continue a pregnancy or to abort one. It's her body that is affected by pregnancy and birth, not the man's. Therefore, it's her choice whether or not to continue it, not his.
