Abortion will never be stopped. Abortion has existed since humans climbed down out of trees and started walking upright. Abortive potions are written in Cuneiform, Hieroglyphics, Greek, Latin, Hebrew, Chinese think of a language and there is a recipe for an abortifacient mixture. Abortion has been criminalized with out any effect. The women who made the potions have been accused of witch craft with out any effect on the abortion rate. In modern times a D&C was available for an unwanted pregnancy. In fact there is some modern evidence that criminalizing abortion actually increases the number of abortions.

Nobody is ever going to stop abortion.

So, if like me, you want the number of abortions reduced opt for legal abortion. If it's legal it can be controlled; laws enacted, proven programs funded, insurance that covers contraceptives and the medical appointments needed, family counseling, raise the minimum wage so the working poor can afford to have another child instead of aborting it.

Good laws and proven programs are the only thing that will work. Banning won't work. A family faced with emotional instability, economic instability or collapse of physical health will not blink when they abort legal or not in order to save the children already born.

I love this tweet from Feminists for Life

"In Chile, pregnant women silently gave voice to the voiceless with “loudhailers” to amplify the sound of the ❤️s beating inside them.

One participant said, "Abortion activists lost all words. They watched in silence: The voice of those hearts was an unanswerable question."

I said before, Abortion will never be stopped, just as rape and murder and theft and crime will never be stopped. But all these things must still be illegal anyway and children must be taught that all these these things are wrong. An adult like you (if you are one) should know better. You are a real disappointment to young people.

Let me just say at the get-go that I'm not pro-abortion. I'm a Catholic and would only consider abortion if the pregnancy endangered the life of the mother. I hope that's clear because now I hope you will take what I say in a non-biased and logical way.

Murder is a judicial term. Taking a life with intent, outside the law. Murder is defined as the illegal killing of another human being. So if people say 'abortion is illegal killing' they are literally saying ‘legal killing is illegal’. It is a completely meaningless statement. Vegans make the same mistake, claiming that eating meat is murder.

A developing fetus, for a decent period of time is not a conscious being. It has no conscious thought process, it does not feel pain, it has no desire or will and it is incapable of suffering. One reason that some people see an abortion as unethical is because they believe in some other arbitrary moral standard such as ‘potential’ to be sentient (capable of feeling), or the idea of a soul going into the developing fetus at some point.

I also know that making abortion illegal does not reduce the abortion rate. What it does is make abortion more unsafe by being unregulated. The result of this is not just more dead mothers but also more babies (yes actual babies) that aborted late stage, or under painful and completely botched procedures.

If the pro-life movement gets its way, it's not going to end abortions. Abortion has been around as long as women have been a human species. There will just as many abortions as before and the only thing that will change is that we can additionally add on, a number of late term babies that will be aborted and killed under procedures that are currently, considered murder. And we will also kill and maim more women as well. The pro-life movement’s policies will murder more babies than a pro-choice policy ever has or ever will.

    History of abortion - Wikipedia

The practice of abortion—the termination of a pregnancy—has been known since ancient history. Various methods have been used to perform or attempt an abortion, including the administration of abortifacient herbs, the use of sharpened implements, the application of abdominal pressure, and other techniques.

The atheist’s case against abortion: respect for human rights | America Magazine

I am an atheist, a 29-year-old woman, well-educated at secular institutions, and I lean liberal on many issues, including same-sex marriage and climate change. I am also a dedicated pro-life activist, working to make abortion unthinkable....

...Most secular pro-choice people are well-meaning and affirm a commitment to human rights. Most are horrified by ableism—but close their eyes to the often lethal consequences of prenatal genetic testing. Abortion advocates would never murder a defenseless sleeping or comatose person—yet they argue that because children in the womb lack consciousness, killing them is permissible....

My comment: The author is much kinder than I am to choicers.
Murder is the illegal killing of a person. Abortion is league, sorry you don’t like the English language but words have meaning and abortion is not murder.

Sorry Charlie, I have to cut you off there. Your position is ANTICatholic. One evil does not justify the other. You cannot murder someone to save someone else. And let me add that no faithful Catholic women would EVER kill her own child just to save herself. That's an abomination. I shutter at the very though of killing my child just to save myself. What sort of monster are you.

Murder is the taking of an innocent human beings life.
Abortion is the taking of an innocent human beings life.

    Abortion is Murder.

Roe v Wade is unconstitutional, and the arguments made within it are insane.

    The Catechism:

    Abortion

2270 Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person - among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.72

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.73
My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately wrought in the depths of the earth.74

2271 Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law:

You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish.75
God, the Lord of life, has entrusted to men the noble mission of safeguarding life, and men must carry it out in a manner worthy of themselves. Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception: abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes.76

2272 Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense. The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life. "A person who procures a completed abortion incurs excommunication latae sententiae,"77 "by the very commission of the offense,"78 and subject to the conditions provided by Canon Law.79 The Church does not thereby intend to restrict the scope of mercy. Rather, she makes clear the gravity of the crime committed, the irreparable harm done to the innocent who is put to death, as well as to the parents and the whole of society.

2273 The inalienable right to life of every innocent human individual is a constitutive element of a civil society and its legislation:

"The inalienable rights of the person must be recognized and respected by civil society and the political authority. These human rights depend neither on single individuals nor on parents; nor do they represent a concession made by society and the state; they belong to human nature and are inherent in the person by virtue of the creative act from which the person took his origin. Among such fundamental rights one should mention in this regard every human being's right to life and physical integrity from the moment of conception until death."80

"The moment a positive law deprives a category of human beings of the protection which civil legislation ought to accord them, the state is denying the equality of all before the law. When the state does not place its power at the service of the rights of each citizen, and in particular of the more vulnerable, the very foundations of a state based on law are undermined. . . . As a consequence of the respect and protection which must be ensured for the unborn child from the moment of conception, the law must provide appropriate penal sanctions for every deliberate violation of the child's rights."81

Your childish simpleton's position was already debunked in a previous post.

    A murder of crows.

You are not a judge. Roe v Wade was ruled constitutional by the highest court in the land.

The government does not grant rights...it can only recognize and protect certain rights. The Supreme court recognized abortion as a private individual right and protected by the 14th amendment. Your emotions are irrelevant to the recognized and protected rights that belong to we the people.
