Abortion & Christ

I don't know how to break this to you but childbirth is how we propagate our species. For you to argue against that is pure ignorance.

Again, what part of choice dont you get? Are you now insisting that women are obligated to reproduce???

And you are just one of many that takes the risks that women undertake for granted. yes...it's the only way. So it's ok to take the significant risks for granted? Every single woman that goes into labor, and every father waiting in the delivery room, and their family and friends, are all out there praying or hoping for safe delivery for mother and baby. Dont bother denying it.

So, gee...why do you think they're all praying and hoping and 'sending good thoughts?' Why are they worried, if it's just a walk in the park?

Unbelievable. You people make it sound like a forgone conclusion that the mother is going to die in childbirth so you have an obligation to kill the child before it is born. That's the dumbest thing I have ever heard, this is the 21st century, not the 1800s.

There is a very good chance that pregnancy would kill me.

Yes, I have. Have you? I have also had several invasive operations that were intense and life threatening but I trusted modern science and the medical professionals in attendance. Now, if these luddites on this forum are that afraid of modern science they should probably just get sterilized and be done with it.

And what guarantees did those medical professionals give you? 100% survival? Or did they also describe any risks involved?

there are no guarantees. I'm glad you were so naive or comfortable that you just accepted their confidence. And were lucky.

Absolutely... some people should abort all their pregnancies... some people should be made sterile.

I don't agree w/ forced abortion or sterilization, but the so-and-so who birthed me should have aborted all her pregnancies.

I would trust them before I'd trust you.

Both my daughters and a friends... who ended up having a stroke that negatively affects her life to this day.

Abortion should be and thankfully is a legal option that women can take.

The only problem is that it is not accessible enough.

Then you should get sterilized, too.

Wow, a little new perspective you werent prepared for there, eh?

Anyway, sure...that's also any woman's choice.

Listen, lady, I have a son who is dying of stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Kill your own kids if you want to, your petty problems are of no concern to me. You can pretend life is cheap, I don't and won't agree. You will answer to your maker.

No, you're not right. Again, women have children every day without complications, this is not the 1800s.

...every day 830 women die from pregnancy or childbirth related causes.[5] According to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) 2017 report, this is equivalent to "about one woman every two minutes and for every woman who dies, 20 or 30 encounter complications with serious or long-lasting consequences. Most of these deaths and injuries are entirely preventable."

UNFPA estimated that 303,000 women died of pregnancy or childbirth related causes in 2015.

No, you're not right. Again, women have children every day without complications, this is not the 1800s.

I had several severe complications as well as surgery to give birth.

My initial complication was found on a routine visit. My OB saw a subtle sign and looked further. The funny thing is that because my OB was extra cautious and was doing extra tests outside of usual parameters....they denied payment for the tests. The tests, by the way, showed what my OB feared....my kidneys were under attack. The scary thing is - I FELT FINE. Many women who are working poor - struggling to pay rent.....blow off some of the OB visits when they feel ok. My guess is that if I blew off that visit (so I could work to pay rent) I would have been destined for dialysis or death. The onset was that abrupt.

I was off work for nearly 6 months due to the complications and surgery. I was lucky they kept my job open for me. FMLA only take you 12 weeks. Would your family have been able to whether 6 months without income? Even 25 years ago COBRA was a bite in the ass. I still have some leftover kidney and vascular issues from that pregnancy. I was in good health prior to pregnancy.

Women who choose abortion are usually poorly resourced. No insurance or Medicaid. Dependent on busy clinics that have very long waits even with appointment. They are housing insecure, barely able to make rent...missing a day of a paycheck for these women means being in real jeopardy of being homeless or in a shelter (which can be worse!) They also may have poor social resources. Family and friends with minimal (if any resources) in case she needs help.

This may not me the 1800s.....for these women......perhaps it is closer to the Great Depression - when housing (etc!) insecurity lead many women to get abortions.

I'm very sorry for the struggle your family is going thru.

I wish the best for your son.

Then you should get sterilized, too.

Why should I get sterilised. I wanted children and had them. I care for them and they're awesome. If I have another kid that would be fine 2. So again why should I get sterilised?

I have to assume that what you say is true. That is horrible. Sincerely but nobody is saying life is cheap. Nobody is saying born kids are worthless. There is a distinct difference between a born child and an unborn child. It is scientific. It is obvious.

Another defining quote from John:

It's simple.
When you vote for a corrupt racist misogynist
who stole from Americans w/a fraud U & charity
who promises to turn away war refugees
& cut taxes for the wealthy
and bears false witness 1000ss of times

..we get to call you out for your revoltingly fake Christianity.

At that point, it no longer matters how much you pretend to love unborn things—John 33:3

Really? What's the difference? A second? Two seconds? Or maybe it's distance. One centimeter? Two centimeters? With some of you this has stopped being a conviction, it's a religion.

You should admit you were wrong about the lack of danger with pregnancy. Nearly a thousand maternal deaths a day blow away your earlier dismissals. Own it.

You should admit that the only things you think you "know" are on the internet, because you know nothing about real life.

The right answer here would have been: "Gee, I had no idea a thousand women die each day due to complications with child birth."

Hint: your response is not it.
