saddest thing about legalized abortion--

One of the saddest things is that media people and partisans use it as a wedge issue to get their favorite politician elected.

Yup and THAT is truly what dehumanizes the unborn...using them for political purposes.

I am so thankful I am Catholic. The Church taught me to value ALL human lives.. the hypocritical Left however, only value LGBT lives and maybe a few others.. They are lovely folks

Yeah, Catholic priests valued little boys especially. But little girls would do if necessary. Hypocritical left? You mean those Democrats that fight for justice and equality of opportunity for everyone: women, minorities, LGBT , migrants, the poor, the elderly, babies(the already born kind) and believe pedophiles should stand trial. Those are your hypocrites?

What exactly shall we call Catholics that control family size by getting abortions at the same rate as non-Catholics. Or Catholics that use banned birth control. Or your fine moral priests that preach chastity and celibacy while they are abusing little kids? Don't talk to us about values of the Catholic Church until at least a few Catholics have some of those preached values.

It's sad but that's exactly why the anti-abortion issue was developed. The issue is a litmus test for conservative Christian politicians. After the evangelical's first win in unseating a moderate Republican Paul Weyrich wrote to Jetty Falwell, "When political power is achieved, the moral majority will have the opportunity to re-create this great nation.”

Ask yourself what is it about the US that they intend to "re-create". Here are several mission statements from conservative religious organizations.

“Focus on the Family”position statement on Church and State:
God has ordained all social institutions, including the government, for the benefit of mankind and as a reflection of His divine nature. The Supreme Court's imposition of the doctrine of separation of church and state distorts the Founding Father's recognition of our unequivocally Christian nation and the protection of religious freedom for all faiths.

All About GOD Ministries, Inc, The role of government :
“According to the Biblical Christian worldview, human government was instituted by God to protect our unalienable rights from our own selfish tendencies. ……. Government has its role, and it should allow other God-ordained institutions the freedom to perform their roles as well”.

It is up to Christians to “restore once again to America a biblically based legal system that protects all human life from conception to natural death,” (Cultural Impact Team Resource Manuel)

It's time to pay attention to how the Christian Right want to change America.

Well, there are many things sad about legalized abortion:

the women who get abortions expeirence Post Abortion Syndrome in one form or another, usually for LIFE

But one sad thing about abortion that hardly anyone ever acknowledges is:

all the unique human beings who are not with us. Some had high IQs, some would have been good at science and possibly could have found a cure for cancer by now (Roe v Wade has been with us 46 years.. a lot of 40-somethings not with us..). Some may have been "retarded" but they would have shown us many things through their ability to love (whereas, complicated people often are misanthropes)

this is a whopping 65 million people we will never know

This reminds me of that movie.. I think it was called A Wonderful Life?

We will never know how those lost people could have changed the world...

Yeah, more people we could have put into cages or sent off to war, what a loss.

Republicans acting like they give a crap always gives me a good laugh.

There’s no such thing as an unwanted baby.

And in any event, you have to prove that anyone who is on the street was an unwanted baby worthy of abortion in your mind.

Playing Hitler with peoples lives is gravely immoral.

I know a ****head who told his wife if she has a girl they can both leave and yes, the asshole is a trump supporter.

Life is cheap

Let's get rid of a few humans... libs first..

(Doesn't that sound lovely?)

I am so thankful I am Catholic. The Church taught me to value ALL human lives.. the hypocritical Left however, only value LGBT lives and maybe a few others. They are lovely folks.

I take it you assume fetuses are more valuable than adults with a different sexual orientation the Catholic Church does not support?

That is the real hypocrisy. Catholics worship a God who loves everyone and values all of His children equally. As a Protestant, I believe in the same God, one who does not stop loving anyone or love some people less than others because of their sins. That means we have no right to place more value on fetuses than their parents just because they have not sinned yet. If you were forced to choose between saving your baby's life or your own life before the fetus is viable, the correct answer is ALWAYS save your own life.
