If personal morality take precedence over the Constitution we get bad law .

There are 2 sides to the argument, correct? And lives at stake on both sides? For some of us, we believe in American's rights to the entirety of a life, to self-determination, that life is more than just a heartbeat (which all animals share).

The result of forbidding elective abortion (making it illegal) would be the state forcing women to remain pregnant against our will. That force would start with the violation of many of our Constitutional rights...leading to women's loss of bodily sovereignty, self-determination, due process, reproductive/familial/medical privacy, etc....and as law, need to be enforced...with repercussions that would affect all society...invasions of privacy, loss of probable cause, loss of due process, loss of liberty, etc.

Do you believe it would be moral for the state to force women to remain pregnant against our will?

“Do you believe it would be moral for the state to force women to remain pregnant against our will?”

No. Never have. I think it’s immoral, though can be legal, for any man to tell a woman what goes in or comes out of her vagina. And those who pretend to have morality on their side try and do just that. Which is why I ask the question for clarity that I did.

Abortion is decreasing, however the number is still quite high compared to other countries. Unfortunately religious conservatives are not just bitching they are using abortion as a litmus test for the conservative agenda and primary-ing of candidates that don't pass. Legal abortion is collateral damage on the way to achieving the goals of ALEC.

Actually, the rate of Abortions in the United States is less than Sweden, Denmark, France , and Canada and is about the same as The United Kingdom.

I can’t find the date the abortion data was collected on that web site.
The site did say it went 2019 population but there no date when data was collected.

That’s what I like about my chart you can date of the data besides the rate of abortions.

I think US and Canada might be very comparable because according to
2014 Data Canada was 18.8
And 2015 Data for the United States was 17.13

I’m pretty sure Canada’s rates are also falling.
