How America’s Abortion obsession was sparked on a conference call

Interesting video from The Guardian today on how abortion became the firebrand political issue that it is

At the end of the day, it’s about power and money and engaging one of America’s biggest demographics in what they believe is a self righteous moral crusade because it gets them to vote religiously, but what is in the end inserting the government directly into the doctors office and is extremely detrimental to the health and well being of women and girls.

In this case, the RW's obsession w/abortion, which it NEVER exhibited before the 1970s, is steeped from head to toe in racism.

The question is why should a woman have the right to kill my unborn child?

Because it is INSIDE OF AND ATTACHED TO *her* body, causing her a possible myriad of health problems, including potential death, great discomfort and pain. That gives *her* the right to have it removed if she so desires.

Bearing a child isn't going to kill you, destroy
your health, or your life.

It's wonderful how men have all the solutions to problems they've washed their hand of and assigned to women. Unplanned, unwanted pregnancy? Not a man's fault and no problem for the woman: just carry the pregnancy to term for nine months, give birth, give child away to adoption agency, take anti-lactation pills for two months. Problem solved. And no man died or had his health damaged.

Now that we have that out of the way.
Yes, the public education system has failed me. And I'm not a lawyer or expert on abortion.
Making abortion illegal is not the answer; abortions would still happen and be unsafe.
I still think abortion is killing an unborn child, but we can agree to disagree on that one.
I’d be interested in finding out what the medical field and/or science thinks about the subject. This seems to be an issue because researching it only brings up religious or personal views not necessarily the medical field or science opinion. Any advice on some credible article on the subject?

It is killing the life inside, but it's not murder. Murder is a legal term, with charges and sentences.

Science 'thinks' nothing about abortion. It's a medical procedure and 'science' doesnt make value judgement, it reveals facts and processes. Science informs us on human development, it makes no 'decisions' or 'judgments.'

And the medical field views abortion as a procedure and there are many...most probably...Drs willing to perform them if needed. Drs do what is in the best interests of their patients and the woman is their patient. Again, you seem to think all these other people or entities have a right to decide what a woman does with her life and reproductive health. They dont. Can you explain why you believe that a woman's rights, up to and including her life, should be violated in order to provide those same rights and life to the unborn instead?

Try embryology. These articles will address the generation of the endoderm mesoderm and ectoderm and how each develops into the various systems of the developing body. It will discuss the nervous system's development, pain, cognition, etc,. Size, weight, shape, and viability will be described. You will learn the science of the development of the heart and the heart beat instead of the anti-abortion propaganda about heartbeat.

Yes, the public education system has failed me.
And then you failed yourself for not making up for the initial failure.

And I'm not a lawyer or expert on abortion.
Clearly, that is why you are spewing the usual uneducated tripe.

I still think abortion is killing an unborn child
The result of the failed education.
