Different states have different laws regulation abortion, that being the case somebody might be able to legally get an abortion in one state, in their current situation, but not in another state. Therefore I would think, would people travel to get abortions? Would they travel to other states so they can get abortions or even other countries?

They can and already do. Women from Ireland travel to the UK to get abortions all the time. They would also probably seek out illegal and most likely unsafe abortions.

Abortion tourism already happens.

Remember when we were all told it was stupid of those marching women to worry about women's rights being attacked under the Trump administration?

Good times.

Of course, including ships just out of US legal limits, like gambling ships. Even combined (no, not the activities but the ships & rooms & medical facilities). But blue states and CA and MX will all provide plenty of package deals, including transportation. Not to mention that millions in donations to PP, as one example, would probably go towards enabling this, helping the women, making it more affordable.

Not if they're in Ohio.

Frankly, if they do undo Roe V Wade, I hope they couple these odious and odorous laws with a rider that states who legalize abortion will have their tax dollars shielded from going to support the children in states where abortion is outlawed.

Feel the ****ing squeeze, authoritarians.

Amusing that catholic theocracies like Ireland and South America have such stringent laws against abortion. IT's almost like the church wants everyone to have tons of kids (for the tender administrations of priestly care, no doubt) and be completely destitute (while relying on the church for charity - such authoritarianism. So gross.)

You know, I find it amusing when people insist this isn't a religious issue. Of course it's religious.

THe women that can afford to take the time off of work, drive or fly to another state or country, and pay for meals and hotel stay, plus the cost of the abortion will do so. Women that can't afford all of that will buy pills online or elsewhere, or get an illegal abortion in their state. OF those some will be hurt and end up in the ER and the states will be paying for their care. Some will die.

I think the tourism will not be needed if the abortion bans become widespread. I think some capitalistic drug pusher will start pushing abortion inducing drugs. Or perhaps even develop their own compound. When bans are widespread enough to support this...it will most certainly happen. The unintended consequence of abortion bans is that some women will have better access than they ever did through drug pushers. It just will not be as safe. That fact that many if not most of pro-lifers believe that women seek abortions for trivial inconveniences The fact is that most of the women seeking abortion are working poor and can barely afford to take time off for a pregnancy, let alone raise a child. That is not a trivial inconvenience. Being housing insecure is not a trivial issue.

Unfortunately, the pills are only effective very early. There will still be some women who dont know or cant decide before 8 weeks.

Heck, there may be even more since there is a time limitation. A woman may rush to judgement.

Very good point! I think I'll be using that as a reminder.

So if they do ban abortion in the USA, people could just go to Canada to get abortions where supposedly there is no regulations on abortion.

Why not?

Well that's what they would do. There really is no way to stop it unless you somehow get Canada to ban abortions.

That is not about to happen, thankfully.

Hey, that would be good for our economy! Go ahead and ban them down there!

Won't need to. In short order drug pushers and other alternate sources of of abortion pills will be available. Abortions will probably be readily available, but less safe. Since drug pushers are in many communities across the states...one would only have to go their nearest high school.
