Prosecuting women for having an abortion and potentially punishing them for 10-20 years in prison is not the solution. That is a barbaric type of law that would have far-reaching consequences.

There is nothing wrong with tough abortion laws but the heartbeat law in Georgia is clearly unconstitutional. It is a type of law you would see being enacted in the Middle East. We need to start having a rational discussion instead of becoming more like a police state.

Laws need to reflect our society today, not 100 years ago.

You cannot abort after a live birth.

And I don't understand the mentality like in the OP that abortion should be illegal but aborters should not be punished.

The middle ground compromise was reached during Roe which allows states to take a compelling interest in the human life at viability.

forgive me if I don't want to see all of our civil liberties and rights completely eroded.

There is something called privacy. Are we really going to have the police investigate every pregnancy test? This sounds like a communist solution. Scary.

Not to put to fine a point on it but she was defending abortion immediately before birth. The argument was abortion after birth. Your video does not address abortion after birth.

Your link did not address the claim and Pro-Choice supports 'abortion' after birth. That wouldn't be abortion at all, that would be a homicide.

One problem is that giving birth can be dangerous for a woman's health.

I think it should be similar to marijuana laws. Marijuana is federally illegal however legal in many states. Abortion should be legal in cases like the health of the mother or if the fetus wouldn't survive. In cases like a personal inconvenience, it should be hidden.

If the Woman chooses to have an abortion, prior to birth the abortion should be carried out, unless she alone decides not to pursue it.
For government purposes, an additional member of our society entitled to protection under our laws should only exist after a live birth has been recorded.
Until a birth has been recorded, the Woman has full sovereign authority over the creation of that life.
