The unborn is not a person

Do you, Wan intend to explain what you mean when you refer to 'my side' ?

I asked first, so you should answer first. Once you do that, I will gladly answer any question you might have.

You do realize that she literally did not answer the question of what's so special about being a person, right? All she did was referencing the ruling of some legal authorities that conclude the fetus aren't persons. But I never claimed the unborn are persons nor did I suggest they be given rights.

She answered your stupid question, in the most succinct way possible. I don't care if you don't like the answer.

I see that a lot of posters here say that the unborn is not a person, and as such, does not deserve legal protection and/or the right to life.

To them, I will simply ask, "what is so special about being a person"? Note that this question is not the same as asking what is a person, nor what special traits a person has.

The way I see it, the act of designating the unborn as not a person is simply a form of discrimination against the unborn. Arbitrarily drawing a life between the unborn and the rest of humanity for the sole purpose of discriminating against them (the unborn).

So. Can someone tell me what is so special about being a person?

You can't be aborted.

She answered your stupid question,
Just because you are unable to answer my question, it does not mean it's stupid. Also, she in fact did not answer my question. I am sorry that you are unable to see this.

in the most succinct way possible. I don't care if you don't like the answer.

I do not "dislike" anything. What she gave is a non-answer. Again, sorry to hear you are also unable to see this.

Insult instead of actual refutation.

No...answer to your question. What's so special about being a person? You can't be aborted. Sorry, assumed the bolding would indicate what I'm speaking to.

Did I win the prize? :)

OlNate, we're all too lowly to answer the superior intellect Ben Shapiro-logic God-like question that the OP has presented. We can only now cower in our beds in fear.

The special thing about being a human being is that you are made in the image of God, and this includes all people, the old, the young, and the unborn.

(Assuming human being and person are one and the same)

But the legal rights of the unborn are being taken away. And here are my questions:

Why does the woman’s legal right to control a body that isn’t hers, take precedence over the child’s right to life?

Why is the child’s life completely dismissed?

Which seems more important?

Does your right to your own bodies systems and how they are used mean more than my right to demand your blood to keep me alive? How about a kidney? I can't demand that you give up your bodily autonomy to keep me alive then why should a fetus have that right over a womans body?

No, I tried very hard, and I wantz mah prize!! Also, **** Ben Shapiro!!

;)

Hey, at least your not on the side of homophobic racists like the OP.

And my wife and myself are raising one of our great grandsons we talked one of our grand daughters out of aborting, and will soon be taking a new baby great grand daughter ( due May 26th/fingers crossed ) into our home to raise as our own....so there is that.

Then why is the inability to be aborted significant?

I see that my political stances make your face hurt.

Oh, my face is just fine. Thanks for the concern. I just call out blatant racism and homopbobia for what it is.

You do realize that she literally did not answer the question of what's so special about being a person, right? All she did was referencing the ruling of some legal authorities that conclude the fetus aren't persons and/or that they dont get to have rights. But I never claimed the unborn are persons nor did I suggest they be given rights.

And I was very clear that that's what you specified in your OP...I even bolded it for you :doh I answered it explicitly in the context that you requested.

If you want 'other' special reasons why, that are not connected to legality, please just ask. I was only complying with your OP, as stated

There is nothing wrong with homophobia or racism.

But let's not derail this thread.

Oh, yes there is. The fact that you see that as fine, just shows your own lack of character.

Oh we wont...we'll just keep this in mind with regards to your credibility overall.

:2wave:

Here, have a Planned Parenthood-approved condom.

No thanks...I'm married. Unless it's ribbed or a French tickler or something, I've got no use for that.

Speaking of which...perhaps if the OP is concerned about abortions, they should advocate for fancy condom programs. Perhaps the usual jimmy caps are a bit on the boring side. I especially like those ones with the vibrating **** ring. Almost guaranteed to get an "atta boy" if you're sporting one of those. How better to ensure that safe sex that doesn't result in unwanted pregnancy than inspire our men to dress for success? We could call the program "Pimp My Dick". RedTube could have a promotional series.

Dang, once again, Canada shows up with all the good ideas.

:lamo

Well, for one thing, it's not the kind of experience you want to have outside of the womb. It's kind of like getting circumcised. I'm super grateful that my parents decided to give me the snip before I could remember the event. And if they'd wanted to abort me, I would probably rather they do it while I'm a sac of non sentient cells than when I'd managed to make it out and about. I can't be sure, but that seems logical to me.

Your personal preferences about when to get circumcised do not enter the equation.
