Re: In 99% of the times the "reason" for an abortion is the fact that a couple was irresponsible".
I dont see any major outlets trying to claim the majority of abortions are for rape or incest. But the realities of mother or fetal health complications are very real. Every single pregnancy is a risk to a woman's health. Every single one...and those risks cannot be predicted.
The numbers are significant. 86,700 women die or nearly die due to pregnancy/childbirth every year in the US.
And thus...no woman should have to submit to govt force and not have a choice in ending a pregnancy IMO.
Although I do accept early term abortion, I am not so blind and naive to accept the left's propaganda when it comes to who the 'average' abortion seeker is. If you listen to the left, youd think that the majority of women who seek abortions do so because they were raped or because of some desperate disease that will cause her harm or death if she doesn't abort the baby. Well, as is true in almost every issue, the leftist activists, democrats(and news media), have continually misrepresented the facts pertaining to this issue, because it just doesn't sound quite as 'virtuous' when they admit that the vast majority of abortion patients are doing it because they simply behaved irresponsibly. Everyone behaves irresponsibly from time to time, and I don't think that a woman should be prevented from having an abortion because she simply chose to screw around without using protection. In fact, it would be a HUGE mistake to force those women to have the baby, because it's life would probably become miserable from early on! But, why can't the left just be honest and own their political positions, instead of pissing down our backs and tell us it's raining!
