Right to Life

Right to Life:

If I was to appoint Supreme Court Justices, I would interview each candidate to see what grasp each had of my philosophy.
The ideal Candidate would be neither pro life nor choice seeing that either outcome is within our prerogative.
The idea that an abortion is an acceptable solution when you get in trouble should be out the window.
If you go to the hospital emergency room the next day and tell them you had unprotected sex there is a pill and although this is a sad solution it is better than waiting and having to do the messy job.
If you come to abortion clinic and they say why didn’t you go to hospital emergency room? What are you going to tell them?
I think if you don’t have a good answer you should go to jail for fifteen days or more and the boy should go too for twice as long and the choice is only hers. I wouldn’t give them more than a high school boy or girl could pay on the weekends. The idea is not to punish them harshly, but to let them know they did wrong and didn’t get off scott free. They should know there is a cost to society.
She should not be told it is a piece of tissue, but a weed, rather you should be told that, and if you can’t factor this into your picture, then you don’t have a complete one.
And because life is a woman’s health issue I’m all for free Federally funded abortions, why should the poor proliferate? (instead they should go to jail)
If you’re too ignorant to go to the hospital emergency room right after having unprotected sex, then you’re too ignorant to give your baby up for adoption and it would likely have been so ignorant too.
Let them take a better birth.
They know the risks.
Hup, all glories to the pill.

Why should women that dont agree with you do as you proscribe?

The unborn has no right to life...who says it should and why? There is a legal basis for people to have Constitutional rights, as all are equal...what legal basis is there to extend that the unborn, which are clearly not equal to born people.

The unborn has no rights that can be separated from the mother (physically, legally, ethically, practically). It's a dependency that truly demonstrates that it is not equal.

They do not have a single right that they can exercise independently.

And then consider this as well:

The born and unborn cannot be treated equally under the law, it's not possible.

What justifies violating women's rights in order to accord the exact same things to the unborn?

I'm not saying anybody has a right or not.

This is just my commentary on the issue of right to life.

We can debate what kind of world we want to live in, what happens to you what you get in trouble.

I would like to be educated and go to the Hospital emergency room or school nurse and not have to be aborted.

I didnt see you directly address that issue in your OP.

Can you do so in a moral or legal context, rather than posting something slathered in rhetorical, judgemental sarcasm?

People who are using contraception do not know the contraception has failed until it is too late for emergency contraception. You're very eager for "punishment", you should think about why you are so vindictive.

i get the feeling you made this statement deliberately to make our brains hurt.

So, if you are not saying anyone has a right then who is saying there is a right to life.

I would like to be educated and go to the Hospital emergency room or school nurse and not have to be aborted.

This is just really bad use of the english language or you do not understand what you are talking about.

Apparently you want to be educated so you do not have to be aborted????

We can debate what kind of world we want to live in, what happens to you what you get in trouble.

Let's try and live in a world where people can make sense when they write something down..

Hospital emergency rooms are NOT for emergency contraception. Good grief.

Here's how it should be: Medical choices should not be made by the govt. Abortion should be between a woman, her doctor and the man who got her pregnant, if she chooses to involve him. Fortunately, this is how it is in my country.

All artifical birth control has a failure rate.

Over 68 percent of U.S. women of childbearing years use birth control consistanly and correctly yet 5 percent of those women will become pregnant within a years time.

As for the morning after pill that also is not fail proof.

It just delays ovulation if the woman has not yet ovulated.

If she already ovulated it will not prevent fetization , nor does it prevent a fertilized human egg from inplantation and pregnancy.

Do you mean to tell me that they don't have a good morning after pill?

Well, I don't know what you're going to do then.

I'd give one week for an abortion then no questions asked the boy gets two.

Have fun with your new Supreme Court Justice.

Anything forthcoming from the OP?

I guess you just have to read the OP nice and slowly to figure out what I'm saying (nothing).

Just another piece that my monkey came up with typing at random.

I'm so pissed off, the rich are getting away with all the money, the Reprobates are getting away with how they treated Obama and stole his SCOTUS appointment. China wants India and this makes the Hare Krishnas jump up and down on me because I'm not doing enough and they think nothing more of you than demons and that it's the age of quarrel.

Have fun, have lots of fun.

If the birth control fails a morning after pill will not work because a morning after pill only works before ovulation not after.

If a woman has ovulated the morning after pill will not work.

It does not prevent the egg from being fertilized nor does it interrupt a pregnancy.

Once pregnant she would need an abortion or abortion medication which is two medications taken a day apart.
Once to stop the progesterone from working which would loosen the embryo from the wall of the uterus.

The next day she would take the medication that causes contractions and the embryonic tissue would be discharged with a heavy period.

I see.

Well, looks like the Christians are going to win and we're all going to have to be good boys and girls (while we eat our steak).

Not all Christians promote Right to life.

Millions of Christians including many Protestant faiths are pro choice.

The idea that all Christians are pro-right is ridiculous. Christians make up the vast majority of the American public, but conservatives/right-wingers who are more likely to be pro-life don't even count for half the country. There's a Christian majority on the left as well, it's just that those folks are less likely to politically weaponize their religion.

When I was still a Christian and just forming my political identity, I was a left-winger, but my stance on abortion leaned to the right. That changed in high-school, when a fellow classmate reminded me that babies don't just spontaneously materialize in the woman. It would be several years later before I walked away from religion.

I used to have a hard time understanding why the religious right was the strongest proponent of the pro-life position on the basis that murder is a sin, because being against murder is a fairly universal position. It wasn't until I understood group-think and how people tend gravitate towards positions pushed by their 'team' that I finally got it.

That pill is available over-the-counter and it does not cause an abortion. No hospital trip required. And this isn't something you would go to the emergency room for anyway, you would schedule an appointment at your local clinic.

Thank God abortion is in no danger of becoming illegal here.

BTW, how does a woman know her contraception failed at the time? Women don't find out they are pregnant until a few weeks after it happens.

Most clinics have walk in service, but if you had to schedule an appointment it would be too late and abortive and the morning after pill is abortive.

I can get this pill without a prescription at my pharmacy? I don't think so.

Pill was described otherwise above.

Sure I'm interested in debate.

I posted this thread to submit my ideas for pier review and to learn.

Agreed. I'm a practicing Christian and mostly liberal Democrat

Well then call on your Christ and turn the tables so that these hypocrites in cahoots with demons loose.

I thought the same way about Trump's possibility of being elected.

I hope you're right, the poor need to be thinned out and women should be responsible for their own health care decisions.

The specific instance of the OP is where passionate lovers know they failed to use birth control to keep them out of jail they should go this route.
