Allow Kavanaugh to win the Senate

Clarence Thomas' days on the Court are numbered, his replacement will not be an extremist conservative. Alito isn't going to be there more than about five or ten more years either. Their extreme RW hold on the court will be temporary at best, and at some point everything the RW justices rule on will be challenged anew.
If Roe is overturned, abortion will simply be re-argued from a different angle, and it's likely that abortion will be re-argued from another angle, and abortion will once again be a private choice by the woman anyway.
There will not be any "twenty year hold"...maybe not even a ten year hold.

Unless the American people are kept busy poking at shiny things.

compared to Breyer and Ginsburg? wanna bet who is the next vacancy?

Convincing Conservative Christians that they've won the court short term may be the best long-term strategy for Democrats.

Which is why it will never happen. People in general, and politicians in particular, are absolute garbage at long-term thinking.

“There’s more than one way to skin a cat”, as the saying goes.

While Congress doesn't technically have the power to overrule a Supreme Court decision, it can take actions to lessen, or even negate, the effect of a court ruling. Congress can render the court's interpretation obsolete, either by passing a new law or amending the old law to better achieve its original intent.

Okay, okay, the Christian right feels jilted so they’ve spent the last few of decades positioning our branches of government with people who are going make us all abide by Jesus or kill us trying.

A note to subscribers of religion: There are ZERO places on the planet that people who subscribe to a religion are prevented from communicating with the God of their understanding, ZERO! If there’s a God who created the universe, and people swear that prayer works, then their God hears them every time a word is uttered in one’s mind. Either God is or God isn’t. The same goes for Jesus.

So much for Separation of Church and State, huh? If the majority of people want a Theocracy in the US, so be it. Let the infidel burning begin.

Oh....

I’m sick of seeing women of religion lined up on the streets and being cattle prodded into abortion clinics and being forced by our secular government to have abortions.

I have tried to understand conservatives. But they still make no sense. You railed against deficits for eight years straight. And are busting it again as you always do. You prefer to believe a Manhattan real estate con man over the unanimous scientific consensus of every single scientific organization on the entire planet. You tell us you want to see America respected again, and turn it into the laughingstock of the entire world. You tell us you want to drain the swamp, and bring in swamp water by the truck load and dump it on our heads. You tell us you’re about traditional values and family, and give us some more stomach turning creeps we have ever seen in this country‘s history.

I am trying to understand. I really am. But I think you can understand how it can be difficult.

Well that explains why you can't understand conservatives, you base your assumptions in lies. There is no unanimous scientific consensus on AGW. The left is the proper place for you, ignore facts, information you don't like and spew lies to further a political agenda that "feels good".

Pendulums swing. Unfortunately we have been adults during the years it began to swing Right. But, piss off enough people with the Far Right bull****, and she'll swing Left again.

It's time the Left starts playing butthurt victim. And, it's reasonable to assume this whole war on women thing may just do the trick on that. Women vote.

Then it’s time to turn “fear” into votes....

With all due respect, if the political left in this country actually took the time to try and understand Conservatives Trump wouldn't be in the White House today.

Face it, the more you think you know the more wrong you are.
Might I suggest this same advice for conservatives?

Unanimous is the standard? Interesting.

I'm pretty sure that this Thread doe not belong in the Abortion Debate Forurm. If Roe v Wade is is jeopardy, by whoever gets nominated, there is still another and better Constitutional argument, which not even opponents of Roe v Wade can jeapordize. That is the Census in which no pregnancy has ever been counted as a person, in more than 230 years of this Government,
