Would you drive a woman to get a abortion

Sure, sounds like an Uber opportunity....

Would you drive a woman to get a abortion? With my three daughters, I am willing to drive them to get a abortion.

I would not drive my kids to buy drugs, to join gangs, to commit assault and certainly not to murder.

You bring up an important point.
It is my hope that someone I care about would never have to hide it till the 24th week or any late term such as that, therefore I expect in the case of people I am likely to be in contact with, such a situation would never arise, and we'd be talking about a much earlier term.

Yes, after that many weeks, we're now talking about a viable fetus.
I suspect that, in my own personal circles, it would be a situation where there is something dreadfully wrong, like news from a doctor that the fetus is in terrible condition, or that the life of the mother is in jeopardy.

For me personally, I can't imagine any other situation where 24th week considerations would arise.

Luckily, I don't think that there's anyone close to me that's in a position to feel like they need to hide a pregnancy. I live in a pretty religious area where there are lots of people that would scrutinize an out-of-wedlock pregnancy, but that's the neighbors, and not our family.

that would be unethical

i don't have a drivers licence

I don't drive, but I would certainly pay for a taxi or Uber.

She is doing a great favor to (a) the fetus that will never have to live in this tragedy called "life" and (b) the world. Each aborted fetus means possibly one less violent criminal in this world.

She is to be commented for her responsible conduct.

Sure, why not?

Though, I usually just drive them to drink...

I have once in the past for a friend who had gotten pregnant by her boyfriend, and they were being careful but their protection failed. As for whether I would do it now? I do not know.

I'm sure all the women you know are immune to the effects of anesthesia so they could also drive themselves home afterwards.

That's a good point.

Thank you. Many people refuse to see that abortion can indeed be a very responsible act.

Why has your view changed? (Since you arent sure now)

I don't have kids, but I thought of my nieces. I would do whatever to keep them safe, even If I disagreed with their decision.

Would it not be better to pay for driving lessons for your daughters so they get there own drivers licence and save you the bother of having to drive them yourself?

I've driven women to medical procedures/minor surgery. Abortion would be no different.

It's not the getting there that is the problem, it's the getting home.

Because traffic is a bitch?

Because you have to sit there and listen and occasionally respond to all that emotional chick **** that women want men to be caring about?

I am still waiting for someone to point out what the concern or problem is in this thread. So far all i am seeing is a thread to laugh at.

Because the patient is sedated or otherwise incapable of driving on their own.

On one occasion a simple dental surgery resulted in the woman being so out of it she ended up spending 2 days at my house sleeping it off.

Laugh if you must. But I'll do a small amount of driving to help someone who may not be totally together due to pain, mental state, or any trauma.

So this is what this thread is about? Asking people if they would show a bit of common decency?

I really am not impressed so far. My thought here is americans are such a needy bunch that they constantly look for affirmation.

If you don't know what a thread is about and you are not impressed, this may not be the best thread for you.

Why not? Most Trump supporters never show a bit of common decency.

Both our kids trust us completely, so I know that they wouldn't hide anything. They've confided so much in us, it's almost shocking, but it's also very gratifying. I guess that while we're not perfect parents, we at least must have done some stuff right :D

I'd be uncomfortable with doing so after the 24th week, though my scarce research on cognitive development may be off.

I consider myself to be slightly left-leaning on the issue of abortion, mostly in that I wouldn't seek to overturn Roe vs Wade, but my personal opinion weighs the right of a living newborn to live with the right of a woman to make choices with her body, rather than emphasizing one or the other.

Once it comes to the point that the fetus is potentially capable of any thought or emotion, that's a person, and rights vs rights becomes much dicier than when the fetus was just a chunk of unthinking biological material. I don't have an answer for what is right in that scenario, which is why I would be uncomfortable with involving myself after a certain point.

There are only 3 clinics and 4 doctors in all of the US who perform abortions past viability ( usually about 24 weeks ).

Since these abortions are extreamly dangerous for the woman the doctors only perform these abortions in extreame cases where the woman’s life or irreparable damage to a woman’s major bodiliy function would occur if the pregnancy continued.

Doctors from all over the US send their patients with these extreame cases to one of 4 doctors for there abortion.
About 100 abortions past 24 weeks occur in the US each year.

By the way if a pregnant woman’s life is in immediate danger a hospital will do a stat c section. If the c section takes place before viabilty it is called an abortion.

Well then, sounds like there will be few life sentences under my proposed penalties.

If that’s the case than I am glad you do not get to decide.

Since you would punish only those women who had medically tragic pregnancies and would have lost their very lifes or would been irreparably damaged such as stroke, heart attack, paralysis from the neck down, or had kidney or liver damage etc. for life if they had continued their pregnancies.

I see that you haven't been following the thread. You're trying to argue with a discount Colbert.
