Well, you can say whatever you want about the practice; I don't like it, but it's not on me and I'm not a woman. It's been goin on for thousands of years, it's a health issue, so we may as well make it as safe as possible; it's less expensive that way... The Vatican is getting jerked into the real world now and the Irish are running their own country, so good for them.

It is my hope that Malta will overthrow the tight reign of the Catholic Church and legalize abortion.

Malta does even allow abortion to save the life of the woman.

That is truly pathetic, stupid and ignorant.

Malta is so controlled by the Catholic Church that divorce was illegal before the year
2012.

In fact in 2011, it was one of the last two countries in the world where divorce was still illegal.

I'm conservative and pro choice. Conservatives are supposed to be for the govt. to be OUT of our private lives.

Hell, a few years back some fought tooth and nail to keep a brain dead pregnant woman on life support against the wishes of the husband.(Marlise Munoz) She was only 14 weeks pregnant. Even the most medically inept layperson could understand that if the mother was deprived of oxygen for a long period of time...so would the fetus. And so early in pregnancy?? REAL conservatives would have not questioned the father's standing to make that decision. These are not real conservatives....they are people looking to push their skewed version of Christianity on others.

I remember that case. It was disgusting the way they fought to keep her on life support against her husband's (next of kin) wishes. I could maybe see that IF she was close to term, but certainly not at the gestational stage she was at.

A decision between a patient (or next of kin/DPOA) and MD. Why is this such a difficult concept. People can apply their own religious code to themselves.
