If all lives are equal (which is what it means if none are superior over others)...then can you explain why you would save 2 rather than 1000?

Now we are waiting for you to support your claim and make it logical. Again based on your logic theres "really no good reason" for self defense.
 
I personally think that it is not a murder. There are some situation where women needs to abort her pregnancy before facing any complication in pregnancy. Beside any situation there is her body and there should be her decision what to do and what not to do.
