Lobsters May Feel Pain, So It's Now Illegal to Boil Them Alive in Switzerland

That's right, in the world of OZ, you can abort a baby but not boil a live lobster.

Does everyone else see the hypocrisy of this? It doesn't matter which side of the abortion argument you come down on, just that a Lobster "may" feel so you can't boil it, but no mention of the feelings of the unborn child.

If it makes you feel any better, they probably frown on boiling fetuses as well.

The unborn feels nothing, or needs to feel nothing, during abortion.

97.5% of all abortions taking place are the painless flushing of the pea-sized unborn from the womb.

In later term, rare, medically necessary abortions, anesthetic can be given by injection to the unborn so again, it feels nothing.

So there is no hypocrisy.

Do anti abortion peopel really want to talk about abortion?

YOu can't have an abortion, but if you have the baby screw you, we won't help you or do anything to help you keep the baby. YOur children should starve.

You can't have an abortion, but we refuse to teach you how to prevent unwanted pregnancy and we will try to defund and close.

you can't have an abortion, but I don't want my tax dollars going to help starving kids

It is sick to kill an animal by burning them a live. The lobster is more aware than an early fetus, so the comparison is dumb. It's funny how many of the people against killing something with no higher brain function, at the same time go out and kill thinking, breathing, feeling animals for fun.

So using your numbers, over 17,000 children will feel pain, rare? Hmmm, if they killed 2.5% of any nationality in any country it would be a holocaust, not rare.

Your missing the point, you can't legally boil a lobster.

No...NONE feel pain. Cant you read? The remainder, the late term, medically necessary ones, that 2.5%, get anesthetic (pain killing :doh ) injection.

Good lord the level of discourse here gets as depressing as the topic.

Do late term abortions get an injection first?

Do you read, this isn't about abortion it's about the BS rights of a LOBSTER!

Yes, I've written that twice now.

And I've always thought that was wrong about lobsters and thus dont do that.

Please block me.

'Fraid not.

It's always good to keep an eye out for good constructive education for others, even if you wont consider it.

I don't see the hypocrisy, just you stretching to make some kind of comparison. Your article points out that Swiss chefs cannot kill the lobster by immersing in boing water, but can stun them electrically or physically first and then do so. All the law is interested in is stopping the lobsters perceived pain, not saving lobsters.

As Lursa pointed out, most abortions in this country are performed by flushing the zygote before the development of a nervous system.

Comparing abortions to lobsters now? :doh

Yes, silly *especially* once people are educated about abortion and that there's no pain. It's a widespread, erroneous belief.

When you compare aborting a fetus to boiling a lobster you already lost the argument from either side.

Put any small animal in a pot of boiling water, and they die of shock just about instantly.

Critical question here - what goes great with lobster?

Sounds reasonable, you know, since a lobster is actually sentient whereas a fetus is not. :doh

OKAY.

AN IGNORANT LIE. An unborn human is very different from an ordinary "baby", and should never be equated with an ordinary baby --YOU are more equal to an ordinary baby, than is an unborn human!

but not boil a live lobster.
OKAY.

Does everyone else see the hypocrisy of this?
THERE IS NO HYPOCRISY IN TRUTH. Of which you are ignorant, obviously. Almost all abortions take place well before it is possible for an unborn human brain to feel pain from the body, and even late-term abortions can be conducted totally painlessly (just cut the umbilical cord and wait 10 minutes).

It doesn't matter which side of the abortion argument you come down on, just that a Lobster "may" feel so you can't boil it,
FACTS ARE FACTS. Too bad you, like most abortion opponents, don't have enough Facts to make a valid argument!

but no mention of the feelings of the unborn
WHEN SOMETHING DOES NOT EXIST, WHY SHOULD IT BE MENTIONED?

WHEN SOMETHING IS LIED-ABOUT, WHY SHOULD IT BE BELIEVED?

I've never seen such a huge amount of dummies on one site. Not that any of you are dummies, just that I've seen lots on this site. This is about morons protecting the feelings of a lobster.
