There's definitely a fundamentalist, intolerant following of Christianity. And they occur all along a spectrum.
I cant throw stones at the judgemental tho; I certainly can be. I am pretty judgemental against women that dont use birth control...I find it mind-boggling to take such a risk. And irresponsible. And just plain careless. I look at myself and my boyfriend of 13 years, we never once had sex without bc and yeah, sometimes it really was a burden but it never ever left my mind what the consequences could be.
But my opinion about such women really has nothing to do with the abortion issue. My opinion wont change their behavior. I'll face reality: humans are...human. So instead of dwelling on something that no one can change, I focus on the parts of the issue that can be affected, that need to be upheld, that we need to be vigilant to protect.
I'm right here with you, sister. That Christian spectrum is like the Islam spectrum, though. All ideologies are defined by the worst of their adherents. When someone chooses the label "christian" there's some baggage that comes with it.
Not all who claim Jesus are whackadoodles, not all who fly rebel flags are racist and not all who tire of having to sort through those groups to find rational humans are lazy or hateful.
It really is a task with lots of pit falls and rarely worth it. Christians have done a much better job at branding than at product development.
