Three percent of all Planned Parenthood health services are abortion services. That is a factual statement, however, let's look at the numbers a bit deeper.

2.4 million women, men, and young people in the United States visit Planned Parenthood affiliate health centers for trusted healthcare services and information in a single year.
https://www.plannedparenthood.org/about-us/who-we-are/planned-parenthood-at-a-glance

323,999 abortions were performed in 2014, according to the organization.

Planned Parenthood: Fast facts and revealing numbers - CNN

Let's do the simple math: 323999/2400000 = 0.13499958333

I took the total numbers of abortions performed in 2014 divided by the 2.4 million women that visited PP a year.

13%! Pro-Choice fanatics will argue abortion is not a central part of PP business core but it makes up 13% of its revenue!

Now, let us take Home Depot for example.

Home Depot typically stocks between 30,000 and 40,000 products in its stores, including building materials and home improvement supplies, hand tools and power tools, appliances, and lawn and garden products.

Home Depot Stock: Analyzing 5 Key Suppliers (HD) | Investopedia

Indoor gardening makes up of only 9% of Home Depots revenue. Indoor gardening is not central towards HD's business core.

However when you like the pie chart, Indoor gardening, is their most profitable sector by product!

Home Depot?s Product Portfolio and Supplier Relationships - Market Realist

Indoor gardening brings in about 7.1 Billion of its total 78.8 billion fiscal revenue. More than any other product sector!

Back to Planned Parenthood... Abortion is their bread and butter!

An abortion can cost up to $1,500! An emergency contraceptive is only $45 while a pregnancy test is $10!

1,5000 x 323,999 = 485,998,500 Million!!!!

Compare that to pregnancy tests: 1,128,783 women received pregnancy tests at PP in 2014. So if a pregnancy test costs about $10:

1,128,783 x 10 = 11,287,830 Million from pregnancy tests vs 485,998,500 Million from Abortion!!!

I am just doing simple math to show a simple point. Planned Parenthood is an abortion organization. Don't be fooled by the pro-choice math. Abortion revenue is their cash cow. And back to Home Depot, Home Depot is definitely pushing their customers into buying indoor gardening products. That's where the profits are coming from. You can bet PP is pushing their patients into what makes them the most money.

Without abortions, Planned Parenthood cannot operate.

CORRECTION:

2.4 million men, woman, young people go to PP for services every year.
About 17 percent of those 2.4 million have abortions.

From my good friend Minnie. Abortion actually makes up 17%! Thanks, Minnie!

Quick correction:

1,500 x 323,999 = 485,998,500 Million

$1,500 = cost of an abortion
323,999 numbers of abortions performed by PP.

I apologize for the confusion.

Interesting that you seem to be backing away from your lie about how most Planned Parenthoods only do Pregnancy Tests and Abortions.

By the way, you may want to correct your post.

Planned Parenthood serves women and men.

You haven't noted how many unwanted pregnancies and potential abortions Planned Parenthood's services prevent. One could also argue that Planned Parenthood prevents a significant number of abortions. But your post suggest these fiends probably consider withholding birth control info so they can make the big bucks on abortion.

Anyway what's your point? Anyone can massage stats to demonstrate one thing or another. Planned parenthood offers services that are legal and that save lives, born and unborn. It suits them politically to minimize the % of their revenue that comes from abortions, while it suits their opponents to maximize it. By your logic, one can imagine PP officials blowing their brains out in despair if there were no need for abortions, for all the money they would lose.

One question I haven't heard discussed - tho I may be uninformed - is who goes to jail if Roe is overturned and states outlaw abortions. The doc, the woman, nurses, the receptionist? What does this particular political dog do when it catches the car? Are there model bills out there ready to go if that happens? What are the penalties?

Safe, legal and rare.

Bucky ,you may want to correct your numbers about how much the usually abortion costs at Planned Parenthood.

PP does not disclose how many pregnant women go to PP every year or how many they refer to private organizations. PP could end the controversy if they disclosed these figures but they refuse to do so.... Hmmmmmm.

Bucky ,you may want to correct your numbers about how much the usually abortion costs at Planned Parenthood.

Still more profit than the $10 pregnancy tests, which btw they probably buy from Hollar or the $1 store.

I give PP credit for their great margins. Buying pregnancy tests for $1 and selling it to its clients for $10....

As yourself who gets punished when a minor buys alcohol.

The controversy is rather uncontroversial.

You guys need to make up your minds.

First pro-lifers give this crap about how Planned Parenthood needs all these funds to subsidize abortions (the whole fungible crap).

And then many of you go down the abortions give them great profit margins.

You can't make this stuff up!!

Bottom line is the usual PP abortion costs about $400. That is enough to cover the MD time, staff time, and supplies with minimal left for any profit.

If you are going to have a thread specifically about Planned Parenthood and crunch numbers relating to "facts" you would look more credible if you actually took a little time to find real numbers.

Planned Parenthood serves women and men.

In a way, I kind of view you as a mind-controlled droid. The Constitution and our laws have been hijacked by lobbyist group. Once upon a time, Planned Parenthood was a neutral organization supported by Republicans like Prescott Bush. Eventually, PP got hijacked by extremists and it filtered throughout our court systems and laws.

Sound familiar? Almost the exact story of the NRA. Just like guns, nowhere in the Constitution does it guarantee an individual right to handguns. Nowhere in the Constitution does it guarantee a right to abortion.

Both groups twisted and perverted their twisted interpretation and we are in the situation now because of these powerful extremist groups pushing their immoral agenda on the people.

Guns kill people. Abortions kill people. The majority of the population support massive regulation for both yet both groups want to defy the American public.

Bucky, for you to be able to begin to interpret anything, you have to stop presenting inaccurate information.

I am fine with your interpretation of facts being different than mine (or anybody else's)

But I am not fine with you pretending like your false information is factual or outright conflicts with other "facts" you have posted.

How are we supposed to take you seriously?

I just did the math for you and you still disagree. What's a matter with you?

Your math includes numbers that are more than funky. The usual abortion at Planned Parenthood is not 1500 dollars.

And your math seems to indicate some wild profit margin for Planned Parenthood because of overpriced abortions.

And you do realize that many fight that PP only needs title x funds because they undercharge for abortions and would go out of business without those funds to keep the abortion end of the business afloat

Of course I disagree, My diagnosis? You are suffering from fuzzy math and even fuzzier interpretation.

It serves the unborn too by saving them the frustrations and pain of aging.

Page 26 might be helpful.

And Minnie has frequently posted links to actual costs for PP abortions.

I agree Buckys math is more than funky.

Over 91 percent of abortions take place during the first trimester.

The Guttmacher Institute found that in 2009 (the most recent year Data is available ), the average cost for a surgical abortion at 10 weeks was $470, of which women paid $451. The average cost of the abortion pill was $490, of which women paid $483.

Hospitals and physicians’ offices cost more than clinics. Across the board, prices increase as pregnancy progresses.

The National Abortion Federation found that the average price for an abortion (medical or surgical) performed between six and 10 weeks is $350 at an abortion clinic and $500 at a doctor’s office.

That's a lot less than the up to $1500 for a late 2ed trimester abortion that Bucky tried to pass of as a norm price.

Planned Parenthood tests the blood not the urine so you are wrong saying they probably use home pregnancy kits from the dollar store.

Many women who try an at-home pregnancy test first end up in a doctor’s office. When you go to a doctor’s office for a pregnancy test, they test your blood instead of your urine, which improves accuracy.
There are advantages and disadvantages to going to a clinic or hospital to have a pregnancy test done.
...
Advantage:

Greater accuracy, up to 99%

You know, it's frustrating. You come out with numbers only to be (it seems) bested by (it seems) someone with better numbers. It's possible for any side to win. I have seen both good and bad data being passed around and its hard to know. That's why I don't play the numbers / evidence game. Especially since each side favors his or her side. And who has more of their facts ready and on hand. I prefer to listen to people on my side. It's a matter of whom i trust more. People who would rather save lives over would rather take them.

Gee , Did you even read the OP that Bucky wrote? He quoted my Number and even thanked me for posting the percentage.

2.4 million men, woman , young people go to PP for services every year.
About 17 percent of those 2.4 million have abortions.

By the way that means that about 83 percent ( over2 million ) of the men, woman and young people get services from Planned Parenthood that are non abortion related.

Sounds like you're trying to say that you're always right. Should I start to put my trust in you? Why would I do that? There is no trust to have here as long as there is support for abortion.
