Teen abortion in Texas increases after closing of planned parenthood.

My comment applies to everything private.

So, you think all the work of the government should be done by people directly employed by the government, and no privatization?? How socialist.

When I'm against the killing of the unborn I always make sure to support the funding of organizations that kill more of the unborn than anyone else.

Oh wait....no I don't.

Yep, I bet PPH isn't bitching about the extra business

Teen abortion in Texas increases after closing of planned parenthood because the girls cannot get contraception as easily.

And you always make sure to defund such organizations to assure that, indeed, abortions actually increase.

It's not the duty of the taxpayer to help women pay for birth control.

So, you are against abortion and birth control?

Like dude says above, "brilliant!"

No, it's not.

You pretend whatever you'd like to to save face, but it won't change the irrelevancy of what you stated.

I never mentioned anything about 'duty', only the ironic idiocy of Texas simpletons opposed to abortion experiencing an increase in abortions after they defunded PP.

So all the supporters of planned parenthood didn't pick up the slack? Well, that is shocking. You know people, you don't have a right to force people to support your causes. If you support planned parenthood put your money where you mouth is instead of demanding I pick up your slack.

lmao...libertarian dumbass-ness. You'll pay way more for kids than condoms, given that, despite your bravado about what you want to pay for and don't want to pay for you don't have one iota of control over that...but hey, I'm sure you know what you're doing.... lolz

Condoms are cheap enough to not need public funding.

The post I originally responded to will do.

That's dumb. That post dealt with taxpayers covering the bills of birth control, not my support for abortion or birth control.

How do they know what "what it would have been had the clinics remained open" is?? Do they have a simulation that takes every possible variable into account??

Yes, indeed. They know the pattern of how things were going, and could extrapolate. They can also see how the pattern went in other , similar states to see if the pattern in texas with that one variable was different.

It's hard to find an example of an action so incredibly counter-productive to the desires of the people who thought of it. Anyone that truly wants as few abortions as possible in America should value sex education, easy access to contraception, and support for Planned Parenthood.

Well then, the simplest solution would be for PPA to completely separate their "reproductive health" operations from their abortion operations. Doing so would make it VERY easy to get all the Fed. funding they would need for the part that almost everyone supports. If, as I've seen claimed repeatedly, Fed. $$ isn't used for abortions, then such a thing should be very simple to execute.

So by making it much more difficult to access birth control, it increases the number of teen abortions?

How shocking (not).

Well then lets pour funding into Pregnancy Resource Centers. They provide almost the same reproductive health services that PPA does, plus they provide free ultra-sounds for pregnant women/girls. With the same kind of Fed. funding that PPA gets put into PRC, you would have the preventative side of things covered with ease.

Could you point me to that study?? I'd love to see how they did it.

Pregnancy Resource Centers do not provide birth control pills and/ or devices.

In fact they do not even have doctors on staff at the Centers.

In fact they discourage any woman from using it.

Here is some of their propaganda from their site:

What You Don't Know About Hormonal Contraceptives

Hormonal contraceptives are extremely popular due to their ease of use and efficacy. All require a doctor's prescription due to possible drug interactions and health risks, especially among older women and smokers. These methods of birth control can cause numerous side-effects and health risks.
