How children change their mothers — and their mothers’ DNA - The Boston Globe

This is really kind of disturbing to think about. Having a baby literally alters a mother's DNA and turns her into some kind of mutant and could possibly lead to an increase in cancers.

So can you really force a pregnancy and have some woman's DNA corrupted in such a way that it might cause serious complications?

And that part about cells invading the breasts is really creepy, too. What if you've got some chick's titties in your mouth are you basically sucking on some baby's cells or something?

*cringes*

Mutants, really? lol

Those cells actually help the woman in some cases and even help treat her of some conditions. For example, male cells from an unborn boy can treat certain conditions in the mothers heart.

My guess is that the risk may be dependent on heredity.

More reason for a decision to be between a woman and her doctor.

Mutants? But I did see that pregnancy permanently changes a woman's brain in a rather major way. But you could as easily say that the mutation is just growing up. ;)

Yea heredity is a lot of it. Or things like the Rh factor issue with Rh neg women. the blood mixes and the mother may react like they are allergic to their child. not as big of an issue with their first child but can be a problem on future children.
All health issues related to pregnancy should be as you said between her and her doctor.
