Jesus. A dead person's life cycle has ended, while a living fetuses life cycle is on going. There is no good reason to compare dead organisms to alive organisms in this situation.

Given the atheistic point of view, you're correct. Given the point of view that a human being is more than just a body, it's a perfect comparison. The fetus doesn't yet have a spirit, and the cadaver no longer does. Either one is like a vacant house, or an empty car. The fetus is more like a car still on the assembly line, while the cadaver is one at the recycler's, but neither one has a driver.

I don't believe in this whole spirit stuff. If it does however exist then I can't imagine how you would know that one way or another.

I suppose you have to rely on DNA, then. Both the fetus and the cadaver have human DNA, which would make them equally human.

You're stupidly comparing a normal and healthy state for young organisms and a fatal pathophysiology present in corpses.

You're right, I was.

The atheist won't be swayed by arguments about souls and spirits entering the body. From that point of view, a zygote represents an intelligence that won't have a chance to exist if it's terminated in the womb.

Interestingly, it's generally the people with strong religious convictions that are adamantly pro life. The pro life atheist is something of a rarity in my experience.

Given that point of view, a pregnancy, any pregnancy is something to be celebrated, even it it was unwanted or is the result of a rape, as it is a brand new and unique intelligence that would not otherwise exist. The "silver lining" is for the new fetus, not for the mother.

One would expect the atheists, then, to be at the forefront of efforts to save all of the children around the world, the ones dying from hunger and lack of care.

Most people think of stupidity and delusional as personal insults, but perhaps in your world they are simply normal conversation.

When we're discussing when a person becomes a person, when life begins, it seems to me logical to discuss when it ends as well. The same criteria that determine when life has ended would also determine when it has begun.

Your words and arguments thus far have been stupid. Try harder and do better - think more.

As far as the latter I've already been through this with you. Absence of brain activity is a normal and healthy finding for organisms of our species before a certain age. It indicates fatal pathophysiology - death - if noted in an older organism of our species.

This comparison makes no sense. It is not rational.

Punishments for crimes should go to those that commit them.

I would like to ad - against her will.

I have no issue with a woman who was raped wanting to maintain the pregnancy.

I am not sure what I would have done.

Oh yeah....I would have immediately taken the morning after pill and AIDS prophylaxis that was offered in the Emergency Room.

nah to lazy to save the kids and abortion is no difrent form not conceiving in the 1st place thers 7 billion people dont feel a great need to make more of them

if its a fetus and the mother wants it gone its not barbaric to have it killed rapist father or not

seems barbaric to treat a fetus like a person wiht an intelligence and sense of self thats more developed then that of are food live stock

even more barbaric to taker away the Freedoms of pregnant women for the sake of those fetuses

and even mroe barbaric to do so wiht rape victims

no its not its going to be killed becase of the actions of the father and will of the mother but no one blames it for the rape

So again, it is being held responsible for the actions of their father. You might not have noticed this but I didn't say it was blamed for the rape.
