One more State bites the dust regarding defunding Planned Parenthood. The most interesting thing regarding Appeals court ruling is the following:

Court sides with Utah's Planned Parenthood in defunding case

Another court decides to redefine the Constitutional rights of a minority of the citizenry? For any but the bigots that see only their own narrow cause? It seems fine. I'm sure. For any that think a little down the road, it might have the alarm bells ringing.

What constitutional right are you talking about?

I wonder how those that feel that corporations do not have rights (Citizens United) who also like this ruling, will mesh their opinion with the outcome of this case: "The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver decided Tuesday there's a good chance the governor's order violated the group's constitutional rights."

Planned Parenthood, like Citizens United, is not a person, or are they? BTW, I agree with the ruling.

Good point.

Personally, I oppose the decision in Citizens United. Corporate "personhood" is no buenos, in my opinion. Both corporations and nonprofit organizations are legal persons - not natural persons. I think our Constitution refers to natural persons, not legal persons.

Okay? How does that mesh with this ruling? Does Planned Parenthood have Constitutional rights as Citizen United ruled that corporations of humans do? If not, then how does Planned Parenthood request protection for the court otherwise? Or, can they?

BTW, I agree that natural humans have Constitutional rights and that was the intent of the framers. Yet, I'm torn regarding Citizens United. I understand the reasons behind the ruling, but do not agree that corporations are people.

IMO, it's not that corporations have no rights, but what those rights are. By allowing corps to engage in campaigning without limit, they have granted corps greater rights than individuals whose contributions are not only limited, but can not be made anonymously

And as far as this action against PP is concerned, we have a constitutional prohibition on Billls of Attainder. To single out PP for no legally legitimate reason is forbidden under our legal system

YOu demonstrate the level of information that leads to such opinions as you hold very nicely.

I accept your surrender.

I remember the days when you used to try to make sense. Now, every time you're question, you just insult
