Having an abortion is not like going to the dentist!

An abortion is the killing of a living organism. This is an unequivocal fact.
MOSTLY TRUE. There are types of abortion in which the word "organism" cannot apply (RU486 prevents implantation of a blastocyst, which is an entirely DISorganized clump of cells), but I don't mind overlooking that minor detail in this post. I will, however, recommend you use the word "entity" in the future, when you want to refer to any unborn human regardless of its stage of development.

ANYWAY:
Pulling a weed is the killing of a living organism.
Swatting a mosquito is the killing of a living organism.
Stepping on a cockroach is the killing of a living organism.
Beheading a chicken for a farm-dinner is the killing of a living organism.
Boiling a lobster is the killing of a living organism.
Cooking a sunflower seed is the killing of a living organism.

Why are you making such a big deal about killing equally mindless human animal entities? Are you Stupidly Prejudiced?
Oh, and I forgot to say that taking an RU486 pill is actually a lot easier than going to the dentist!

Fetuses breath through the oxygenated blood of their mother, geniuses.

No, that's simply figurative. It's not actually breathing. That doesn't happen until it's born and the amniotic fluid is drained from the lungs, Einstein.

Thank you!

It is funny that many of the folks who want to have a say over women's biological functions have absolutely no concept of...well.....biology.

RU486 terminates an established pregnancy. Implantation has already occurred.

It can do the other thing I mentioned, too (although it appears to not be the main ingredient of most morning-after pills). It is my understanding that there is normally something like 4 or 5 days between fertilization in the Fallopian tube, and implantation of a blastocyst. So, when used as a morning-after or couple-days-after pill, RU486 prevents implantation. If used as a week-after pill, it aborts an implanted embryo. Since the embryo at that stage is still in the process of getting its cells organized, it still doesn't yet qualify as an "organism", which is always an entity that has functioning internal organization.

Hmm you don't like abortions, but I wonder what your position is on the morning after pill?

That allows a miscarriage within a couple of days after the possibility of fertilization and the woman is never even aware she was pregnant.

No emotional distress. No physical harm. No shaming and second guessing. One pill and done.

I think you are confusing the abortion pill RU-486 ( which is actually 2 types of pills taken a day apart and causes a miscarriage of a pregnancy ) with the morning after pill which only delays ovulation .

The abortion pills will cause a miscarriage in a couple of days.

The morning after pill simply delays ovulation from occurring so there is no ovum available for the sperm to fertilize.

If the ovum was already released Plan B ( and other morning after pills ) will not prevent fertilization nor would cause an already implanted zygote to abort.

In fact Plan B only uses an artifical progesterone.

Progesterone is used by doctors who have IVF to help the pre embryo implant and stay implanted thus ensuring a pregnancy for the woman.

Doctors also use progeterone in woman with high risk of miscarriage to help prevent miscarriage.

I just wanted to add that in fact RU486 is a synthetic steroid which works by blocking the effects of progesterone, the natural hormone which is required to maintain the lining of the uterus during pregnancy.

The first of the types of medication in the RU486 starves the womb of progesterone, the lining of the womb breaks down, and the placenta separates/loosens from the womb.

The ingredient in the pill used the next day causes the uterus to cramp/contract thus expelling the embryo/fetal material and the placenta.

Could you please provide a link for this? I've never heard of it being used in this way.

I will keep saying this until I am blue in the face. Radical pro-choice groups are leading women to believe having an abortion is great! It is a simple procedure, easier than getting your teeth cleaned! This is utterly absurd! An abortion is the killing of a living organism. This is an unequivocal fact.

An abortion is not like getting your appendix or tonsils removed. That fetus inside is a living, breathing, unique person inside with an unalienable right to live.

I am not surprised how radical these pro-choice groups are becoming. Recently, this wacko comedian Chelsea Handler wrote an essay, essentially bragging about her two abortions:

Chelsea Handler reveals she had two abortions in the same year at age 16 - Chicago Tribune

Stories like these are absolutely ridiculous. Pro choice groups fail to tell the fact many women after an abortion suffer severe depression, ptsd-type symptoms, self destructive behavior, an inability to feel pleasure, etc.....

Things like that will happen after experiencing such a horrific event. Just like soldiers in war that witness mass murder and casualty. Physically when they return home, they may be fine however emotionally psychologically, they are never the same.

You're surrendering to their vocabulary. Either "pro-abortion" or abortionist is a better term. Abortion clinic companies are known as death merchants.

Absolute horse****, Bucky. Pro-Choicers aren't telling women that having an abortion is "great".

Wrong.

I do.

It is better than going to Disneyland, in fact.

Women! ABORT YOUR CHILDREN... it is a blast. :)

So am I when I have a fly swatter in my hand... I am more deadly then a cruise missile. Kids around town call me the Death Merchant although it is with a smile.

Abortion causes the same reaction psychologically as watching your friends bleed out?

I would assume it's different then going to the dentist; after all, I've gone to the dentist many times and never had an abortion while I was there.

Anti choice or pro illegal abortionist is a better term than "pro life".

Pro-fetus is the most apt description to me.

Once the baby is born the advocacy for many in the prolife movement comes to a grinding halt.

I did provide a link, based on some Googling I did. Funny thing; I didn't notice it was located at an anti-abortion site, so you can be sure as many facts as possible about RU486 have been distorted. Nevertheless, even that linked page says there have been limited tests of the drug as a morning-after pill "with mixed results" (and includes a reference). So far as I'm concerned, even "mixed results" means it CAN do what I said it could do, if perhaps not as reliably as one might desire.

I wouldn't trust an anti choice site if it said water was wet.

Post something from a credible source showing it does do that and I will take it seriously.

Then you have a problem with facts...

Since RU486 is sold as an abortion drug and percribed by the medical community as an abortion drug not a morning after pill, I am doubtful doctors call it a morning after pill.
As I mentioned before RU 486 is two different medications taken a day apart to cause the miscarriage of a known pregnancy.
The first medication stops progeterone and the second medication causes contractions to expel the embryo/fetal material and the placenta.

What in the world does this have to do with what I said? Jeez... talk about an out of the blue Red Herring.

Just clarifying that RU486 is known to abort pregnancies and the drugs sold as morning after pills only delay ovulation .
Morning after pills do not/cannot cause a miscarriage/abortion.

Yep. I remember The Walking Dead had a whole subplot about that back during Season 2, and they (incorrectly) made it seem like taking a Morning After pill would cause an abortion.

Yeah, I remember that. I don't know why the producers didn't just have her ask for RU486.

Correct , morning after pills cannot stop a fertilized egg from implanting nor does it cause a miscarriage/ abortion.

Here is a simple , short ( less than 3 minute) cute animated science you-tube video explaing how Plan B delays ovulation , keeps fertilization from taking place and cannot cause a miscarriage/ abortion.

They didn't.. the character did. And who cares anyway, when you have the undead chasing you around trying to eat you to death.
