So how low can you go in the quest for a new gig as a Congresswomen? Turns out we aren't there yet'

Laura Underwood Candidate for Illinois 14th Congresswomen. She is basing her candidacy on her willingness to help people, including her gig as a nurse. But there is a problem. She is not nor never has been a nurse. Always a career politician. When before defeated, unemployment instead of taking a job as a nurse.

Her original political ad, since pulled:

The bust:

Ms. Underwood is indeed a registered nurse. Your "American Thinker" link is just a conservative hit piece. The Chicago Tribune is calling this House race even.

Her opponent, GOP Rep. Randy Hultgren, voted YES on the horrible GOP House healthcare legislation that would have removed healthcare insurance from 24 million Americans.

Hultgren needs to go.

Several other news outlets have picked up the story. Breitbart for one.

She has a license. Never practiced. Interned with Obama. Always been a politician. Between political gigs drew welfare.

Your statement "She is not nor never has been a nurse." is still incorrect. She is still a nurse if she has never practiced and carries the nurse title with her.

I stand corrected. She has never been employed as a nurse.

Much better. It's an important distinction.

Not really. I wouldn't all a career politician a nurse if she has never spent a day doing nursy stuff. Even if she posts ads dressed in hospital clothes, swings a stethoscope and pretend talks to pretend patients.

Doesn't look even. Latest poll has her up by 9

Don't matter. She is still a nurse because she has a BSN and is registered as one in the stae of illinois. She has a right to use nurse as her title even if she never practices a day in her life.

Fake news!

Yes, she's a nurse! :doh

Have you watched her ads? She's clearly implying working with patients.

Watched it and didn't hear her say it. Please provide a transcript.

Going to breitbart as an example of 'other news outet' is hardly a good source. I also see a shifting of goal posts here.

In went to the source. The local newspaper who broke the story.

And you know this because you read stuff from American 'Thinker'?

LOL.

Next denial will be 'Well, she's not a nurse *NOW*!'

She actually took her nursing education and applied it to health policy - which is an entirely appropriate thing for a nurse to do. She became a senior advisor at HHS on health policy.

You seem to be laboring under the delusion that a health care professional needs to be practicing in a specific way. I bet you're mad that nurses dont wear little hats anymore, too.

He also seems to be laboring under the illusion that the incumbent Republican - Randy Hultgren - cares one iota about his constituents health insurance concerns.

He voted to strip health insurance from 24 million Americans.

To grad as an RN the students spend a lot of time doing nursy stuff in hospitals. It is called a practicum at the very least. Secondly a significant amount of their training and education actually takes place in hospitals. Starting in year 3, out of generally 4 year programs. So she may not have been employed as a nurse she would have done nursy stuff in hospitals

I think the OP is now "nursing" his wounds on this topic...
