Clinton announces ‘National Service Reserve’ for millennials

So, not only has she doubled-down on her generalization that all millennials are "uninformed children living in their parents' basements", now she thinks they should participate in mandatory servitude to the government.

Trump is officially the lesser of two evils in this election.

She must be stopped!

This is the ultimate boot-stomp on the face of the Youth of the Nation, and the movement Bernie galvanized. She's basically saying, "you lost, now submit!"

Utterly ****ing terrifying.
 
This sounds fantastic! I'm all for a volunteer two year community service-style plan. Particularly if it helps kids pay for college. By the way, those quotes aren't quoting something she said.

Frankly, giving back to the community would only be good. Lots of kids my age are self centered pricks. It'd be good for them to get out and actually do something nice for other people for a change.

And yet, the community still benefits.

Helping the homeless and responding to natural disasters, for instance, both highly benefit the community. I'm not seeing how any of this is in any way fascism.

I don't blame having reservations about the government operating this program, but as a vet currently in college I would highly recommend creating a civilian volunteer service deal to help young people go to college debt free. Do some service, learn some things, and get free education on top.

There are other, better ways to benefit the community than through the state and a blatant personality cult push.

It's an effective way to pay for college if they organize it correctly. As long as they give options of which services a person can volunteer at I don't see how it would be like a cult. Unless you view a culture that promotes community service either negatively, or as some overreach by the state.

There is nothing good about the young being trained by the state and it amazes me that people don't understand this more.

Isn't it at all interesting that a statist like Hillary takes note of people moving away from the state? Isn't it at all interesting that she moves forward with this understanding by acting on the young? You know, there is a reason statists like the young.

I fail to see how this is a personality cult.

If the state can provide programs to benefit th community, why shouldn't it?

I still fail to see how this is any way analogous to the Hitler Youth, either.

There's plenty good. This program seems like it will beneficial for all involved. Paranoia about the NWO or Hitler or God knows what else doesn't negate it.

It would definitely benefit the federal government. They already wrote about Clinton wanting to expand the Peace Corps and AmeriCorps so there are two options right there. Obviously I'm not as paranoid about the government as you are, but the mechanism needed to be in place to control a program to provide college tuition free without serious recourse in the quality of education in many states will be similarly large to Clinton's volunteer program. In fact the government would get a lot of say in education if they removed tuition from the equation.

Why should it? Hillary is concerned with the state, with her own authority and assurity of a loyal following. She does not care for the community.
