Dem debate 4/14/2016

Bernie just called Hillary's "super-predators" comment from back in the day a "racist statement and we all knew it was a racist statement."

She's not even combating that.

I think that they both have had some good shots across the bow and some poor answers.

Clinton:

1. Weird answer on the minimum wage.
2. Not the best answer on the crime bill.

Sanders:

1. Really bad answer on the gun control bill.
2. Doesn't have a good reply on the bad interview he gave where he struggled with foreign policy questions and specifics on his bank plan.
3. Whiffed on his opportunity to hit Clinton over her Wallstreet connections and she got a really decent dig back.

Just like the rest of her past, she acts like she can erase it.

Come on Bernie and mods... bring up the damn Panama Papers!

I always thought superpredator was related to the fear that juvenile offenders would become 'superpredators' due to the hysteria about youth crime in the 90's. Does anyone have any sources on the background for that term?

global warming topic. Hillary is stumbling through her answer. Bernie is about to spank her.

She tried to eliminate the subsidies for big oil and she did that by strongly supporting the Keystone pipeline while Secretary Of State. She's definitely not in support of big oil.

"The Washington Post has been hard on us both..."

AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

"We both receive very little money from fossil fuels."

AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I'm surprised Sanders punted on hitting her over the fossil fuel subsidies. He basically granted that she isn't really funded by the oil industry and has shifted to a discussion on global warming. That was interesting.

Lol, the Washington Post sucks her hypothetical dick every chance they get.
What a joke, Hillary.

Oh she's going to hit it out of the park on a carbon tax by linking it to foreign policy.

Somebody needs to bring up her support for Keystone if Bernie is too nice to do so. Come one Bernie, the mods won't.

He seems to be using kid gloves. I'm very confused. This is a must win debate for him.

Yep. Washington Post of "16 negative articles about Bernie Sanders in 16 hours" fame.

More Obama human shield answers for Hillary.

Great answer on natural gas from Clinton. She's completely right on the need for natural gas as a bridge fuel for economic, environmental, and strategic reasons.

Sanders: "will you support a carbon tax?"
Clinton: ...refuses to answer

I thought she did a great job dodging it and most people wont notice it. While popular within Democratic circles the answer is that it isn't realistic without international cooperation.

I'm surprised that Sanders is against nuclear energy. That's just incorrect at a basic level. The only hope for future energy is move over to a largely nuclear energy policy.

I agree. Hopefully his opinion on that will change.

Oh yeah, Hillary, you made Libya a-okay. Excellent foreign policy decisions there. 0o,

Good lord she filibusters so much.

Here we go. Hillary is breaking out her hawkish side. Moar regime change and moar war pleeezzzz!
