Who is his main target tonight?

Trump?

Clinton?

Establishment Washington?

Establishment R's?

Romney?

I dont have a good enough sense of him to know which way he goes. This is for sure one of the main "inflection points" of his campaign.

EDIT: I see the typo in the tittle.

Cruz will keep going after Trump. He wants that outsider title soooo much it's dimming his intelligence.

Yea he needs to point out that he's an outsider battling insiders on their court. It's gonna be hard to ignore that *Sen. in front of his name for some.

They both need to tell Establishment puppet Rubio to FO.

Yes, but he can do this also by going after Romney in particular and the establishment in general, he can throw in with Trump so to speak, at least to the point that he says something to the effect that people should choose Cruz but dont be confused, it is the establishment that is the major enemy, not Trump. I for a long time thought that Cruz and Trump had a deal that was done sometime last year, that at the end of the day they would support each other because they were the anti establishment candidates and the establishment going down was the main thing, which is what the R electorate largely wants. I am not 100% sure still that there is no deal, and wonder if Cruz might throw Trump a bit of a lifeline tonight.

My take: Cruz needs Trump out right now to win the nomination, Trump needs Cruz to stay in a bit longer. If it's between Trump and Cruz, Trump will get the establishment support - they actually hate Cruz, they're only scared of Trump.

Did not sound that way today.

Hit list

1. Trump
2. Rubio

He has to derail Trump first and foremost. Rubio could derail himself. If I was him, I would try to make points with the electorate, and let Trump and Rubio beat the hell out of each other. It worked in the last debate.

That is actually the line of attack that I think Trump should take tonight, ignore all the attacks from those in the room as well as Romney, look into the camera and say over and over " I am fighting for America, I am fighting for you, and I need your help to remove the power base in Washington that has so failed the nation".

That's good advice, but although he toned it down a bit during his campaign stop in Maine today, he still was Trump. I think he will try to remain calm, but will eventually lose it.

I have from the beginning thought that the assertion that Trump is thin skinned is wrong, I think we see him take a whole new approach tonight as he drives this point him. He is the guy we can trust to go head to head with China and Putin, this is the what he needs to drive home. If we see the old Trump tonight then I have over estimated him.

Imo, go after Trump while playing up being the outsider but actually Republican.

OK, I'm planning to DVR the debate tonight. Talk to you tomorrow.

So, was it the old or new Trump? As I mentioned earlier, I thought he was going to try to control himself, but eventually would revert back to the old Trump. I was surprised that he fired the first round so early saying, little Rubio, or something like that. I think later on he called Cruz something and than kept interrupting until Cruz kept telling him to breathe.

Having said that, and although he continued to interrupt the other candidates, I thought he was much better than he has been in the past. Even under continuous attacks by the candidates and moderators, he remained reasonably controlled. I'll give him an E for effort.

I don't think we will ever see a "presidential like" Donald Trump.

He did not do what I wanted him to do. I was also annoyed with the show runner, both the moderation and audience oversight was crap. Re Cruz it was clear to me that he thinks Rubio has imploded (he has) and he expects the party elders to take out Trump (HA HA) leaving him to be the nominee.

Trump is always getting better, but he needs to get better faster.
