Simple question. Those of us TRUE Tea Partiers (circa 2007), conservatives, Libertarians, and non-liberals in general name 1 good thing we think the guy will do in the next 4 years. I've got one.

I firmly believe that Pres Obama will be a lot slower to deploy me to Iran than Gov Romney would've been. I also believe, barring a 9/11 or Pearl Harbor type incident, that Pres Obama will not start a new war in the next 4 years requiring me to deploy. I don't mind fighting. As you can see in my avatar, I actually enjoy deploying and plying my trade. I am very good at it as well. However, I have a problem fighting for nothing. I've fought for nothing 6 times. I'm tired of it. I'll go at it with the North Koreas or Chinas of the world all day long if they so threaten us. But leave the Syrians alone. They ain't hurtin nobody but themselves. That's my one good thing. If I had to name another, I'd be reaching:cool:

I'd say that's a pretty big one thing in your case ... what with it quite possibly being a matter of life or death.

i firmly believe president obama will continue to be the weak kneed president that he is, ensuring that the reigns of power in our country remain in the hands of our elected assemblies, the senate and the house, which are much more representative of the people than the president who is elected or defeated based on just a few counties nation-wide.

I hoping to see some new Justices. The old liberal guard is ready to retire and I'm sick to death of them. Really can't get worst than we've had. So I'm hoping for a change that way.

Hopefully ending the Bush-tax cuts.

I'm fairly confident he won't pursue gun control... that's one of the few positives I can foresee.

That's the feeling I got from looking at who's advising Romney. Same people who brought us Iraq Inc. Even if you don't like Obama, the fact that Romney is far likely to get you into an Iranian occupation is a huge reason not to vote for Romney. And it seems that a great many active duty soldiers on the Yahoo boards were echoing that. That and their disgust that Ron Paul was treated so badly by the GOP.

Agree on both of your points. The general public, that is so indoctrinated with the Support Our Troops crap, thinks we all love going over there and fighting for another country's future. Not so. After the initial adrenaline pump wears off and you see your buddies dying around you just so some dude can vote in a country that will corrupt the vote anyway, your eyes begin to open. It's hard for a lot of guys to differentiate between finally getting to do your job (can't kill people in training) and doing your job for the right reason. But it's not hard for them to see that their boy they have trained with/drank with/picked up girls with is now dismembered or dead for nothing. As for Ron Paul, I know I was infuriated with the way he was treated. I can't speak for everyone on that because we don't really talk about politics at work.

Continue to support the Patriot Act remaining as law, while not pushing to find ways to re-instate things that the courts strike from it or the congress allows to sunset.

Romney wasn't going to do anything to ramp the Iraq situation back up. I'm actually a little surprised that you would think that given that there is nothing in his background that would make anyone think he's a war monger. Disappointing.

Obama will extend the Bush tax cuts for everyone because he's smart enough to know that they started at an income level of $15,000 a year - not only for "millionaires and billionaires", even though he used those words to fire up his base.

He will have to move to the center, a la Clinton, because he has to make a legacy for himself now.

He will stop blaming Bush for everything.

No, he wouldn't ramp Iraq back up. He'd find some other armpit of the world country to piss off and go after. It isn't Gov Romney, as Obvious Child said. It's the people around him. It's the people he was friendly with. It's the GOP in general. Gov Romney will bend to the will of whoever is around him. If the neocons of the world want to go after Yemen, for instance, I believe he would find a reason to do it. Also, of course there's nothing in his background to suggest he's a war monger. He's never held an office that could reveal that. I'm judging him off of the company he keeps.

There is no silver lining to this stormcloud. Get an umbrella, and learn to swim just in case.
