Obama 2008 vs. Obama 2012

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand?

What's your point?

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it should be self-explanatory.

But if it's not, then read anything into it you like.

That Obama did slightly worse than four years ago. Why do you care?

Did anyone hear Obama's post-win speech filled with lies about working with both sides, about a united states (vs red or blue states), about worrying about our jobs instead of his job?

So can you support that?

would you rather him say that he will not try and work across party lines, say that it is all about red states and blue states and that he doesn't care if americans get back to work as long as he is safe? Come on now, the guy won and is at least saying he is going to make an effort. I might point out that the Republicans are already stonewalling him saying that they will not budge on taxes and will not cooperate in regards to the fiscal cliff. Hypocrite much?

Considering the righties wanted everyone to believe dissatisfaction was widespread among Obama supporters and there would be a mass exodus over to Romeny's side I'd say 2% difference is pretty minor and clearly does not support the exodus prediction.

I would MUCH rather he said this - at least he would be telling the truth (imo).

BTW - I am neither Rep nor Dem.

Don't you know?

It's 2008 again. The guy responsible for benghazi, the high unemployment rate, dividing the country based upon race and income that governed from 2009-present was JUST KIDDING when he rammed Obamacare, The Corrupt Failed Stimulus, ect down your throat.

Hope and Change is back! Hurray!

No I didn't, whose speech were you watching?

Perhaps because you're upset about the election's results?

Me? Heck no.

Selfishly, I was hoping for an Obama victory.

My gold and silver thrive on low interest rates and massive government spending - and Obama definitely supports both more then Romney.

Now, I think both candidates are/would be bad for America...but for me, I am pleased.

I cannot fathom why anybody would root for the president to say that they are totally against working across party lines.

Let's be honest here. There are two ways individuals could read this number in a realistic way without further context. How they read it will depend on their desires politically.

Most Republicans could spin it that this shows that Republicans have gained some inroads in the public mind over the past 4 years (since Romney did better than McCain) and more importantly, that the public has lost faith in Obama's methods and message as President with the reduced numbers this year compared to 2008.

On the flip side, Democrats can spin it that it's evidence that the public was upset that Obama didn't stick to his guns and go as liberal as he campaigned on, "caving" to blue dogs and republicans too often, and thus the disappointment was expressed at the ballot box.

You did not type that above.

You typed 'would you rather him say that he will not try and work across party lines'

And I believe he will not...so he should admit that.

Should he admit everything that you believe he thinks? What other thoughts of the president have you picked up on your brainwave radio?

I am neither Dem nor Rep.

Bottom line...Obama is less popular then he was in 2008.

And considering how plain and wishy-washy Romney was and how ridiculously behind the times the Reps are in social matters like gay rights, drug legalization, abortion, etc.?

That speaks volumes (imo) about Obama's drop in popularity.

If the Reps had fielded a strong, charismatic candidate with progressive ideas on social issues (for a Rep) - instead of that wet fish Romney - I believe they would have clobbered Obama.

With unemployment, participation rate, average housing prices, national debt and food stamp usage all worse then before Obama took over, he was ripe for the picking.

But the Dems have succeeded in getting SO many people dependent on government handouts that they have a solid base of supporters who are scared of anyone who threatens to take their government teet away.

There is nothing to spin...Obama is less popular then he was in 2008.

That's absolutely true

Why that is the case however is open to interpretation

EVERYTHING is open to interpretation....sometimes unfortunately so.
