i scanned all of the majors except MSNBC. from what i saw, CNN had the most organized coverage, although i did watch NBC nightly's coverage and found it to be ok. the other majors i watched only briefly. CNN's online election map seemed pretty thorough, also.

which did you prefer? i'm always on the lookout for another good resource to use on election night. i think i had about ten tabs open yesterday night.

Comedy Central.

CNN......and flipped back and forth to watch my local on NBC since they had the better coverage at my local level.

for local, i went with NBC, which did a pretty good job. the local CBS had the best online updates.

I was going to watch ABC but everytime they were going to talk abouty something important the local station cut in. So I went to CNN and it was very interesting and informative.

I only have local TV. I started with ABC, but dumped them quickly when Diane called a State based on exit polls. I bounced around the other networks and settled on my Fox channel/local PBS. The PBS station had the best local election coverage.

CNN. John King rocks. He is a master of that touchscreen and his depth of analysis on vote totals and counties blew everything else I saw out of the water by a mile.

i also think Blitzer does a pretty good job. he has a serious demeanor and gravitas that lends itself well to reporting. Brian Williams does, as well.

Yep, John King and Wolfe Blitzer at CNN did a wonderful job.

MSNBC's coverage was pretty good. CNN's was god-awful...probably the worst Election Night coverage I've ever seen from a cable network. Nothing but county-by-county results/speculations for the entire night! Ugh! MSNBC actually had a panel that talked about the campaign, the ramifications of the vote, etc. They had their usual blowhards but they also had some smart people on.

I'm looking for information about the status of the race on election night -- not politics in general. CNN had the best vote coverage.

i guess that's partially why i liked CNN; i was very interested in the county-by-county breakdown.
