Karl Rove Freaks Out!

The thing is that the rightwing noise machine primaries "normal" Republicans who don't toe the tea bagger line. The result is that the GOP is in a death spiral whereby it can only become more and more radically rightwing while the rest of the country rejects its weirdness.

The narrative is already emerging from the noisemachine: Romney was too liberal! Wonderful!

On the otherside, you have the politicians who are through with the wing nuts and now understand the money can't buy them a seat in the WH nor Congress and that Karl Rove is an idiot...;)

I'm not so sure of that. The generation taking over the GOP includes subliterates like Palin and Bachmann. They hate Rove, even though he was the midwife who brought the tea party into the GOP -- to his eternal regret.

I see no way for the GOP to put the tea party/creationist/knownothings genie back in the bottle. It IS the GOP.

We don't agree on this. Romney lost because he went all over the board and the spectrum of the various right wingers objectives. The objectives of the rich were not met. And this means, the radical teaparty religious wing nuts didn't get out the vote....the republicans know they can't win without the moderates...the tea party southern states don't have the electoral votes. They will be dumped so the republican party can get the big hitters in the electoral votes Obama took from them, no matter what their money. Moderates are the source. WAtch Boehner tone down an Ryan and Cantor become mum.

I guess the worst strategical mistake the gop ever made was show its true colors

It's a truism, but the only way the GOP can ever win an election is to pretend it's something it's not.
