Republicans Go Extinct in California

true, aids for example? bankruptcy?

Most gay porn is sold in southern red states. Go figure. Also highest divorce rate.

It's as if conservatives were hypocritic fools.

any proof of that? and you seem to labor under the delusion that red states have no democrats

is Ohio a red or blue state? Florida? North Carolina?

the only thing that is provable is that those making under 50K a year went 2-1 for Obama

those making more were for Romney but not as strongly but those making over 100K a year were as strong for Romney as those under 50K were for Obama

net tax payers favored romney

those getting more than they pay in income taxes-big Obama supporters

I'll let you prove our bankruptcy claim first, then I'll truth smack about conservatives and gay porn.

where did the post you quoted of mine mention bankruptcy?

California balances its budget every year, like every state, so what are you talking about?

Oh, the mess left by the Republican governor Schwarzenegger -- yep a fiscal mess. But Brown is getting it under control, and when you're the largest economy in the US, when the recovery hits its stride, you benefit more than any.

Oh, sure, California is in great shape, thanks to the new governor, sure. It's been a mess since before Schwartznegger, before Davis, going back at least to Wilson. But, it's not the governors. It's the legislature.

Tuition that once was free at the state universities keeps going up and up, class sizes get bigger and bigger as the schools can no longer be adequately funded, and still the state can't really balance the budget any way except on paper. The sales tax used to be 5%, back when the schools were the best in the nation and the state still had money, now it's 8-9% depending on where you live, and is going up another quarter percent. Income tax that used to be too small to bother even withholding now eats up 8%, and is scheduled to increase. Unemployment is higher than in the rest of the nation, around 18% in this area at least.

and none of that has a thing to do with the R or D after the names of the governors. It's a matter of the state spending money that they don't have, just like the federal government does. The only difference is that the state can't print their own.

The golden state is just gilded.

Oh dear: California is so far ahead of other states that when we have a bump in the road, you get a hard on about it.

Yeah, when you have the best public university system in the world and a huge economic meltdown due to failed conservative policies, there will be hard times. And then they end and California goes back to being the largest economy in the US and almost the world -- all while red states like Alabama have trouble regulating trout.

See the difference?

Remind me again who the governor was prior to Arnold...and what was his party affiiation...and what happened to him...

...OH YEAH, that's right they recalled his Democratic ass for poor performance...:lamo

Not relevant dude.

Really? Because I was responding to your post suggesting that California is not a trend-setter. That's a pretty hard argument to make if you use, say, a computer, or any marginally modern cell phone.

are you telling me that california has something unique that would prevent other states from seeing such things developed some place else?

Not remotely. I'm telling you that California has repeatedly produced products that have had a huge amount of influence over pretty much the entire world. So for you to suggest that California is only a trend-setter in "aids and bankruptcy" is - at best - small-minded and self-serving. Also wildly inaccurate.

well.. it will be interesting to see how this single party rule thing pans out in California.

I like California.. some of the best people on the planet are there ( many of the worst too)
it's a great place to visit on vacation ( beaches and the touristy areas anyways.. most of the cities are filthy scumholes)
good place to send your kids to college ( 2 daughters at Stanford, so i'm biased)

no way in hell I would live there again though... I like Texas far better.

If California is so great then why is it that my little town way up north of Cali has a police department made up completely of transplants from California? And why is it that Californians have a need to escape California claiming that they left because of the idiotic laws...only to try and get those same damn laws passed where they moved to?

Except for the fact that this was the result of years of voter suppression and gerrymandering you'd be right. But in fact the demographic shift to a hispanic majority and democratic majority is underway. And there is nothing the GOP can do to stop it. The GOP is growing weaker every year in Texas, which is why it's at pains to try to suppress the latino vote more vigorously. But eventually that will collapse.

Check it out. I was unaware of this until this election:

When it happens then you claim victory. Until then, the numbers dont show it.

the problem was deregulation of the power industry, which led to higher electricity rates, the rise and fall of Enron, and the near demise of Pacific Gas and Electric, which had been providing power to Northern California for decades.

And the trouble with laying that at the feet of Gray Davis was that his predecessor, Pete Wilson, had been the architect of energy deregulation. He had been quite proud of that accomplishment at one time, but didn't say much during the recall election.

So, we recalled Davis and elected Aahonld. Such an improvement.

Wonder how many people voted illegally in Cali.
