I have one more election game: Predict the time (Eastern Standard Time) that CNN.com will officially call each of the swing states for one presidential candidate or the other. For the purposes of this game, the "swing states" are New Hampshire, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa, Colorado, and Nevada. CNN has committed to not calling any state until the polls actually close everywhere in the state (although they occasionally break their own rule). Theoretically, the closer the race, the longer it should take to call a winner. Here are the times that the polls close in each state.

FLORIDA - 7:00 EST (peninsula) / 8:00 EST (panhandle)
VIRGINIA - 7:00 EST
NORTH CAROLINA - 7:30 EST
OHIO - 7:30 EST
NEW HAMPSHIRE - 8:00 EST
COLORADO - 9:00 EST
WISCONSIN - 9:00 EST
IOWA - 10:00 EST
NEVADA - 10:00 EST

Predict what time you think each state will be called! I'll be using CNN.com as the official source for this game. You get one point for every minute you are over/under on each state...and the LOWEST overall score wins!

FLORIDA - 7:00 EST (peninsula) / 8:00 EST (panhandle) - 9pm
VIRGINIA - 7:00 EST - pm
NORTH CAROLINA - 7:30 EST - 9pm
OHIO - 7:30 EST - tomorrow or later
NEW HAMPSHIRE - 8:00 EST - 10 pm
COLORADO - 9:00 EST - 12 am
WISCONSIN - 9:00 EST - recount
IOWA - 10:00 EST - 12am
NEVADA - 10:00 EST - almost immediately after polls close

FLORIDA - ==10:25
VIRGINIA 10:20
NORTH CAROLINA 10:20
OHIO - Wednesday @5:00 a.m.
NEW HAMPSHIRE -10:01
COLORADO - 10:13
WISCONSIN - 10:35
IOWA - 10:35
NEVADA - 11:15

Oh one more rule I forgot...in the event that the state is not called by Wednesday at 5:00 AM, you don't get any extra points beyond that. It wouldn't be fair to have someone run up a huge score because they didn't predict that a state wouldn't be called until a week later. :2razz:

FLORIDA - Later than Wednesday @ 5 AM
VIRGINIA - Later than Wednesday @ 5 AM
NORTH CAROLINA - 1:35 AM
OHIO - 11:32 PM
NEW HAMPSHIRE - 12:47 AM
COLORADO - 3:45 AM
WISCONSIN - 11:36 PM
IOWA - 1:16 AM
NEVADA - 11:41 PM

FLORIDA - 7:00 EST (peninsula) / 8:00 EST (panhandle) - 9pm
VIRGINIA - 7:00 EST - pm
NORTH CAROLINA - 7:30 EST - 9pm
OHIO - 7:30 EST - tomorrow or later
NEW HAMPSHIRE - 8:00 EST - 10 pm
COLORADO - 9:00 EST - 12 am
WISCONSIN - 9:00 EST - recount
IOWA - 10:00 EST - 12am
NEVADA - 10:00 EST - almost immediately after polls close

What's your Virginia prediction? ;)

I have one more election game:

Kandahar...... I thought I was a political junkie supreme who enjoyed these nights..... but I take my hat off to you.

Damn there goes my plan... was gonna say a time in about a month or so once the SC has heard the cases.

Get your predictions in, folks...you still have a few hours left! For this contest, the deadline is 7:00 PM EST, because that's when the first polls close.

I can't predict for each state but I think the whole deal will not be called until 11pm

If it learned that the Eastern states of Florida or Virginia went for Obama, its over and Obama won re-election.

If Romney wins those two, but not N.H., we may not know for days. However, if Romney does win Florida, Virginia AND N.H., it will indicate towards a Romney win.

What about Pennsylvania?

FLORIDA - Later than Wednesday
VIRGINIA - 11 PM
NORTH CAROLINA - 10:00 PM
OHIO - Wed. 2 AM
NEW HAMPSHIRE - 12 AM
COLORADO - ??
WISCONSIN - 10:30 PM
IOWA - 11:45 PM
NEVADA - 11:40 PM ;)

Here are the correct answers:

FLORIDA - After the deadline
VIRGINIA - 12:42 AM
NORTH CAROLINA - 11:04 PM
OHIO - 11:18 PM
NEW HAMPSHIRE - 10:06 PM
COLORADO - 12:24 AM
WISCONSIN - 11:04 PM
IOWA - 11:10 PM
NEVADA - 11:48 PM

I'll add up the scores and figure out who won soon. ;)

And the winner of this contest is...AdamT!

Even with my harsh punishment of giving him the maximum possible number of points for not guessing at Colorado, AdamT is still the winner with only 795 points...nearly 200 points fewer than anyone else. Nice job, Adam!
