Let's admit it, no matter who wins today...

Agreed that it takes two to tango. But Obama was the one who said he would work across the aisle, then copped his "Election is over, you lost" attitude.

Funny you bring up a budget. How many budgets has Obama submitted, and how many votes (Democrat or Republican) has he received on those budgets????

working across the aisle requires the people on the other side of the aisle to make an effort too, not just unilaterally pass budgets and expect them to become law, because that isnt how our government works =/.

obama introduced some radical budgets that were summarily rejected by both the senate and the house. but the house introduced some radical budgets that were then rejected by the senate and obama. it does take two to tango, and until the democrats and the republicans can sit down and work something out without the involvement of special interests on both ides, we're going to remain gridlocked and i'd bet my paychecks until 2014 on it.

Economy has been improving for three years??? I don't know what country you are living in, but here in Virginia, health insurance premiums have doubled since Obama took office, gas prices are nearly double what they were when BO took office, the published unemployment rate is the same as when BO took office, the national debt has increased 60% on Mr. Obama's watch, the current president has cut in half the pre-tax dollars that we can save to pay for family medical expenses...

No, health care premiums haven't doubled. That's a ridiculous claim. The president doesn't control gas prices, except when he crashes the economy (Bush). The unemployment rate is almost 2% lower than it was three years ago. Etc.

Stop listening to right wing radio before it rots your head completely.

Concurred with the OP. Thus why I'm making plans to **** off to somewhere else as soon as possible. Likely Britain, because at least I have friends there. :D

Yeah, tell that to my insurance company. We have the same plan, same family size as 4 years ago, and our premiums HAVE more than doubled. This is not unique to our company here in Virginia either... Sure, unemployment is almost 2% lower than it was 3 years ago, but Obama took office nearly 4 years ago. January 2009 unemployment was 7.8%, October 2012 7.9%.

you cant have honestly expected obama to immediately halt the drop in employment when he took office? it takes months to build a house, and seconds to destroy it. also my parents health insurance premiums, here in florida, dropped considerably after obamacare because my step mom has some pre-existing conditions they can no longer charge her extra for.

I can't speak to your individual policy, but nationally employment premiums haven't come close to doubling. In fact the premium growth rate has been nearly constant since at least '99.

Why are you citing unemployment numbers from four years ago when you were trying to refute the claim that the economy has been improving for THREE years?

What I honestly expect is for a man to do what he says he is going to do. Obama knew the state of the economy and he promised that he would cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term (he even chided Bush as being unpatriotic for having compiled such a large debt). Rather than blaming someone else, I would expect Obama to admit he failed to deliver on his promise, and tell us what he would do different...

Obama also promised that the unemployment rate would never rise above 8%, and would be 5% by the end of his first term.

I am not going to pretend to know the specifics of your step mom's case. I am just sharing the facts of my personal situation, co-workers, and friends that have shared their facts. I am glad that she is no longer being charged extra for any pre-existing conditions...

Oh, good lord - more blaming it on someone else. Time for Obama (and anyone else) to man up and live up to his word. Obama made each of these promises. He even had a super majority for the first two years....

no he didnt, he almost did, you need 60 senators to override a fillibuster and he had 59 :D.

No one knew how deep the recession would become when Obama made his comment about halving the deficit, and he never promised that unemployment wouldn't exceepd 8%. That was a projection and it was stated to have a high margin of error.

Majority or super majority, Obama made the promises that he would work across the aisle. Obama made the promise that he would cut the deficit in 1/2 by the end of his first term. Obama made the promise that unemployment would be 5% by the end of his first term. Call me old fashioned, but I expect a man to follow through on his promises, not make excuses...

I just hope that he is able to take a leadership role and deliver on these promises by the end of 2016.

false hope mate, he won't be able to do that. i'm not even sure if he wants to do that.

Huh?

Arlen Specter defected to the Democrats in April of 2009, Al Franken was sworn in to office in July of 2009. That was the 60 vote majority. That lasted until Scott Brown replaced Ted Kennedy.

joe lieberman doesnt count, obviously, lol.

Okay, can you show me what votes Lieberman made with the Republicans and against the Democrats during the time since Obama has been President?

Actually I would say just the opposite conclusion is justified: No matter who wins today, the country will be fine. Neither Obama nor Romney is going to destroy America. If the guy I like doesn't win, the country will survive and my life won't be affected much at all. The country has survived far worse things than a mediocre president.

Obama wants to make this country a big flaccid, impotent, emasculated, financially weakened shell of what it used to be.

And you must love that prospect, huh?

You mean, he intentionally lied to further his political goals, knowing his charm could help him escape accountability for his deceit.

Just to put things in perspective, a few observations:

Since the USA survived eight years of Bush, it surely can survive eight years of Obama, who is at least articulate and who hasn't gotten us into any wars (yet).

Romney was no doubt the better of the two candidates, but he lost. Obama is our president, whether you or I like it or not. Ideologically, there wasn't a whole lot of difference between the two candidates anyway.

The Republicans in Congress failed in their primary goal, to make Obama a one term president. Time to select a new goal, perhaps to cut back that deficit a bit or something mundane like that.

The cost of health care, and therefore of health insurance, has been going up by leaps and bounds since before any of us heard about Obama. That cost is one huge issue facing this nation.

The president does not control the cost of gasoline.

At least 90% of everything said during the campaign by both sides was pure unadulterated bull(bleep!)

Probably 99.9% of everything said on rant radio during that time was the same.
