not very. too many people refuse to participate to get any real information from them.

For determining the party affiliation of voters, they are pretty good... But to be honest with you, because of the level of public anger/incivility being displayed this election season by Obama supporters toward those who oppose him, I would expect the exit polls in many cases to be just as bad as they were back in 2004 when they all had John Kerry walking away with election.

What I'm saying is, I don't think as many Romney voters will participate in the exit polls, as Obama voters... So I wouldn't put too much stock in them.
 
Thats like asking how high is Up. When were they taken, who was taking them, how many people? It depends
 
Raw exit polls aren't very accurate, but after recent embarrassments the networks are apparently being more cautious with them ... making some effort to provide a representative sample and correlating them with actual returns.
 
Let's just put it this way:

After people like Bill Maher saying, "white people, if you voted for Romney, the blacks know who you are and where you live", would it shock you if Romney voters simply decided not to participate in an exit poll? When tens of thousands of people are threatening riots and violence on Twitter if Romney wins, would it shock you if Romney voters simply decided not to participate in an exit poll?

You see, the left is full of threats, because they are desperate. Americans don't like that kind of language, and they don't like that kind of childish response to losing. Seriously Bill Maher? You wanna threaten Americans who vote for Romney with "black violence"???? You guys wanna threaten riots and violence if your guy doesn't win???

It tells you everything you need to know about liberals. They aren't right in the head. They aren't rational. They aren't cooperative. They aren't peaceful, and they damn sure aren't tolerant.

No one asked me who I voted for, but if they had, I would have loudly proclaimed I voted for Romney. Now riot that.....because he's gonna win big.

Not very with early voting. They are good for post-election dissection especially in states where there is no party registration. They can also be pretty good if you get more information than what party do you belong to and who did you vote for. I suspect somewhere there is already someone analyzing social media today for the same info that would be revealed in a good exit poll.
