Maher: If You Vote for Romney Black People Will Come After You.

Oh my, I'm scared now, I think I'll go for Obama, because you know, I have to listen to Bill Maher, the guy who Obama supporters get their news from!

You could always begin your own Palin character assassination thread because she's so relevant to Tuesday's election. :roll: If you do, please provide links to support said character assassination.
 
The cluelessness of some folks continues to amaze me. Perhaps it is a result of wearing the Goggles and Headphones of Truth 26 hrs a day.

Bill Maher was making fun, not of black people nor their supposed tendency toward violent reaction but instead he was poking at the paranoid tendencies of the modern American right. All of those poor oppressed, victims of discrimination who are suffering thru the most violent, crime-ridden and sexually profligate era in the history of American History. And the reactions posted here by some of those who proudly claim their Independent and Libertarian 'lean' are fine examples of the truth that lies at the base of the joke.

I'm sure you know as well as the rest of us, that her words were "target Democrats" along with a poster showing targeting marks over the names of various Democratic candidates.

She put crosshairs on Democrats. Used the words "take aim."

Are you suggesting that she didn't literally mean for people to shoot Democrats? Interesting concept. We should explore this further. I'm really glad you brought this up, it's new territory for me.

Perhaps Bill Maher wasn't literally suggesting Romney voters would get beat up by black people. Hmm. I wonder if he used any words that would indicate he wasn't speaking literally and seriously. Perhaps immediately following the statement in question.

Yes, I have. But the word you want is "metaphor."

No sane person thinks that Sarah Palin (or any other politician, for that matter) advocates for assassinating those who hold a different political view.

Palins comment was "We'll aim for these races and many others,"

Mahers comment was "If you're thinking about voting for Mitt Romney, I would like to make this one plea. Black people know who you are and they will come after you,"

So in your mind these are comparable huh. I was gone on a hunting trip a few weeks and had forgotten why I don't bother responding to your post, now I remember.

The progressives have gone into full-blown panic mode... This is how they cope with the notion that their messiah could lose and will lose.

It's ridiculous - "vote Obama or blacks will attack you."

It's funny watching these progressives freak out because when they do their absolute ignorance shows...
 
Its all in good fun. Maher makes these kinds of jokes all the time. It would be just as funny if he said

"If you vote for Obama, white people are going to hunt you down with ropes and say howdy like back in the old days"

or

"Its ENCOURAGING to see so many gays coming forward and being comfortable with their sexuality and straight people should embrace that. After all...they cant procreate and are in the highest risk category for HIV/AIDS...so...its a win win..."

or

"Women are sluts...I mean...come on...they are sluts."

(ok...the last one he has kinda done....)

I think it is funny because the "conservatives" are the ones freaking out as the progressives try and explain reality to the purposely obtuse
