looks like we have a winner

Yeah, and how many times have conservatives gone ape**** over the Benghazi consulate in the last four years? Shameless indeed.
There's only been one US ambassador murdered, and one deliberate disinformation campaign regarding same, in Benghazi in the last 4 years, so.... once.

Wait a second....from the article:

Why the hell would the U.S. treasury allow something like that to happen, assuming it actually happened?

This seems highly inflammatory.

The whole thign is ridiculous

Sorry, translated into English, does this actually say that a supplier required payment from a company entering bankruptcy before providing that custoemr with the goods that were ordered?

Cause if so that seems pretty ... what's the word ... normal? You are going to go bankrupt - no more credit for you. You want inventory, you pay cash.

Doesn't seem like a difficult concept.

Providing inventory to a company days away from bankruptcy without pre-payment is a sure-fire way to lose money.

I was more referring to the use of the word "extortion", which the article implies came from the U.S. Treasury's description of events.

I think this thread is a little long in the tooth, if you know what I mean

So...the press conference should be in full swing and still nothing from any major media outlet...

i don't think so. Have a straw or two, you are really going to need them in the next week.

Given Romney's history of unethical and dicey behavior, I agree. This will especially resonate in Ohio, where Romney already has egg on his face for his rightwing desire to put the auto industry out of business.

And frankly if Obama wins Ohio, it's over.

More lies. Well done.

Thanks. When the Rightwing Noise Machine alleges lies, we all know that their target is telling the truth. Meanwhile, I hope this plays big enough in Ohio to highlight Romney's ugly rhetoric about letting the auto industry die, with the result of an Obama win in Ohio and the electoral college will be sewed up.

Politics isn't for crybabies like Romney.

Charges do not equate to being guilty. Given the HIGHLY polarized election, there is a good bet this won't stick and is just noise. The only ones that this story will have legs for would be for those that won't vote Romney anyway.

I'll end my comments with the usual statement. If he is not guilty, it would be found out. If he is guilty, nail him to the wall. Either way though, his guilt is not certain and deserves the benefit of the doubt IMO.

Not to mention that "Truth-out" is about as legitimate of a source for actual, worthwhile, impactful news as WorldNetDaily.

This seems nothing but cheap election time tactics to be honest and hardly something that will decide a "winner"

I always says sources matter. Not due to bias, but accuracy. If this was real, it would be huge news. That's not suggests the source is unreliable.

The OP confirms what I already knew...Liberals think making a profit is a crime.

In the last 4 years? I don't recall Ambassadors getting slaughtered in Benghazi before September 11...of 2012.

Truth out is an advocacy group, but I'm unaware of it every publishing a falsehood (like the entirety of the rightwing noise machine does). Cite an example.

As you might recall before Obama, Libya was a dictatorship befriended by Bush, with money pouring into Gaddafi from rightwing thinktanks due to his new and improved "anti-terrorism" stance.

Obama dealt with the Libyan revolution perfectly. And didn't even have to spend $3T and give hegemony to Iran, like Bush did in Iraq. By the way, how many Americans died in the Iraqi Bush fiasco? Surely more than four.

Cute. An equally valid takeaway from your post that conservatives think breaking the law, to make a profit, is not a crime...

Please be sure to let us know what you think about how Obama playing it perfectly next summer.

Yeah, I'll do that boss.

But I see a new meme emerging from the Right -- "Democracy in the Middle East is bad -- Gadaffi is good."

Go with it that.

This is a lie. Romney expressed no such position.
It doesn't matter.

In Liberalville the charge only needs to be made against a conservative. Once made, guilt is just assumed. If it turns out later that the charge was false... oh well. They were only acting with peoples' best interests at heart.... and that's what REALLY matters.

Yes - as we see here, they can lie faster than they can be proven to be liars.

2.5 hours later and STILL nothing in the media. Not even a blurb on any of the Toledo-based news sites I was able to find on Google.
