Republicans Have Won Every November 6th Presidential Election Since 1860

Don't be silly. America elected Obama because was born in the sign of Leo, with Aquarius Rising and his Moon in Gemini.

REALLY? I thought it was all that 'hope and change' mumbo jumbo...:lamo

Gee...this suspiciously sounds like the M.O. of a certain big-eared president that, four years later, still blames the previous administration for his failures.

Well he did have a pretty deep hole to dig out of, but 32 straight months of GDP growth is a pretty good start.
Especially when you compare it to how other leaders in the free world have done with the same financial collapse.
I wonder how that graph would look after Romney's plan took effect?

Wrong.

People blame the previous administration for things the previous administration did. When this is positive, we use the word "credit" instead of "blame," but it's the same thing. People are responsible for things they did.

Whether you right-wingers like to admit it or not, many of the previous administration's policies are still having an effect because they're still in effect.

the law of averages says that the Whigs will sweep this election then....

I thought Obama wasn't going to be a president that "makes excuses?" Remember that in 2008? Hope and Change was going to solve all of our problems. Hope and Change was going to cut the debt in half. Hope and Change was going to fix a lagging economy and unemployment problem. Instead, it's nearly doubled the debt, presided over the longest monthly stretch of 8% unemployment in U.S. history, and is watching a record number of Americans on federal aid and food stamps. When looking at demographics such as African-Americans and women, the numbers are even more damning. Yeah, I understand why you're still attempting to justify blaming Bush 4 years later. Just remember, it was YOUR party that is responsible for the initial mess in the first place. Barney Frank anyone?

Nice strawmen. And not to be too particular, but during the Great Depression the unemployment rate was over 15% longer than it was over 8% during Obama's tenure. The debt has increased by about 50%, which is not "nearly doubled". The debt did, in fact, double under Bush, and it tripled under Reagan.

If you're the head coach of the worst team in the NFL, you don't make a claim to keep your job by pointing to the winless teams throughout history. Turds are turds. 40 some straight months of unemployment above 8% isn't justified because the times of Hoover were worse. Maybe if Barry was running against Hoover, you'd have a leg to stand on, "strawman."

If you were the first head coach of the expansion Tampa Bay Bucs, the first-year record of the expansion New Orleans Saints would be a more apt analogy than the record of the Lombardi Green Bay Packers. IOW, you play the cards you're dealt.

So America elected Obama because he's black and could possibly replace him because he's black? Interesting dichotomy.

reading not your thing is it? Where did i say people elected Obama because he was black? I clearly indicated that he faced a battle because of his skin color and the racial prejudice against it. It must be an interesting dichotomy because it is like imaginary obama in a chair and is only visible to republicans with reality issues.

Sorry, I thought I was having trouble penetrating that granite façade but now it seems apparent that you were merely being obtuse…you’re welcome….

Don't fly away mad captain obvious, just fly away. Flying mad is one of the leading cause of violence between superheroes. next thing you know superman will cut you off, and you will follow him to his house and get into a fight with him, and he will probably grab you by your stick and balls, swing you around, and fling you to some far away planet.

I just thought this bit of information is interesting. Is it in the stars?

Republicans Have Won Every November 6th Presidential Election Since 1860

Sounds a little like Jimmy "the Greek" Snyder, who once had a spot on the NFL on CBS where he would tell us how the Detroit Lions always covered the spread playing Sunday evening games after Monday night games when on the home field in November.

I just wonder if Nate Silver knows this and has worked into his model?

You know it really gets tiring to hear the liberals constantly blaming all our troubles on Bush and leaving poor obama with this mess

What seems to always be forgotten .. Is Obama applied to take charge of the mess, he spent nearly a billion dollars to get the job, it wasn’t like anyone forced him to take it on. He willingly did so, campaigned day and night to get elected.

He was in government for two years, he knew what he was taking charge of, if he didn’t want the damn job then he should have just bowed out of the race. What he needed to do was to man up and do something. Rather then whine and cry for 4 years how it was someone else’s fault.

No one is picking on Obaama because of his race, they are disgusted with his attitude, his whining, his lack of leadership, and his spending policies, and of the lack of progress that has been made to bring our economy back.

As to the spending, yeah bush did double our debt, he added 5 trillion dollars to it in 8 years, and that is bad to say the least, but to be bragging that Obama didn’t double our debt as Bush did is just asinine, Obama has added just over 5 trillion in 4 years … bragging about something that is worse then it was in the past is just plain stupid. Even more so when that past was bad.

Yep, unfortunately they are Clinton's policies though when it comes to the economy.

Yeah, if you're John Adams or Thomas Jefferson, you have a point. YOU DON'T!!!!

If you think Obama's race has hurt him in EITHER election, you are straight up delusional.

How in gods name does Obama wanting to run for president invalidate the scientific fact that he inherited a complete mess - how does it even relate? If Romney wins, he may never mention the economic situation he inherited because he wanted to be president? what the hell is this nonsense?

Man, this is so boring. It also insults ones intelligence. A CEO causes his company a huge debt and then gets kicked out and the next CEO has to take loans to pay all the outstanding bills that the predecessor ignored or the company may go bankrupt, then the new CEO is much worse because he had to pay for his predecessor's gaping fiscal hole? Huh??? How do you think youre ever going to convince anyone outside the choir with this glaringly transparent nonsense?

I was pretty concerned, but then I broke out my ouija board and it spelled out: ROFLMFAO

Once in while you actually say something that's kind of funny. Keep you day job anyway.

Obama's race has hurt him in certain areas of the country.. there is zero doubt about that. Thankfully a majority of the population has gone past race now, so it is only the old slave states and their followers across the country that have pockets of racists in it.

Or maybe written communication isn't your thing, but you did play the race card. Color me shocked.

Oops, the pass bounced off your chest.

The point is that all coaches don't start out with the same level of talent, and all presidents don't start out with the same fiscal and economic conditions. The Great Recession was the worse economic downturn since the Great Depression. FDR was inaugurated at the nadir of the GD, just as Obama was elected near the nadir of the GR. FDR was reelected when unemployment never dipped below 15% during his first term. He's considered one of our greatest presidents.

To continue your football coach analogy, was Jimmy Johnson an awful coach when he went 1-15 in his first year with the Cowboys? No, he wasn't. He just inherited an awful team that took time to develop.
