Romney surrogate: Roe vs. Wade is "not going to be reversed".

"reversed" does not mean it won't be reigned in.

Obama, if elected, will not ban guns.

Romney, if elected, will not ban abortions.

Romney did campaign as pro-life during the primaries, but I believe the message was written on his Etch-A-Sketch.

I don't. I've seen bio shows that said he was vehemently against abortion as a church counselor. Don't forget, him not pursuing abortion restrictions is not the same as him not signing bills on his desk,

Each POTUS marks politically popular territory but they tend to stay on the fringes. I'm sure Romney is pro-life and he has every right to be. I don't happen to agree with him but I don't think somebody's bad because they don't have the same opinions I do.

Will the topic come up under Romney. Maybe, but not much. Why would he embroil himself?

I'm sure Obama dreams of banning guns but he's smart enough not to try and make any extra enemies by doing anything about it.

When you win the prize, you stay busy rewarding your contributors. You create departments, you start wars. That's where the money is. Abortion and guns are just distractions. The laws and the customs are already in place.

((OBVIOUSLY just an opinion))

I agree with the fact that we can't predict if Romney will overturn RvW or not. This fact no one should argue with: Romney wants to take things out of the hands of the federal government and give it back to the states. Even better is when he can get it privatized.

This is where the RvW issue comes into play. The states are doing everything they can to pass laws regarding abortion. Read the article below and you can see where the states are showing they want to have the power to control abortion. If Romney is elected, there is a good chance he will give that power to the states. That is not good for abortion.
2011 was a banner year for state laws restricting abortion. And 2012 looks like runner-up.
...
There were 39 laws restricting abortion enacted in the first half of 2012. While that's less than half the 80 put in place during the first half of last year, the number of laws already on the books for 2012 is higher than any other year before 2011.
State Legislatures Stay Busy On Abortion Laws

Perhaps letting the states decide would have a different outcome than you think. There is abundant federal case law, but very little state case law on rights and such. Might be some fresh air for both sides.
