Romney currently leads Obama 52% to 45% among voters who say they have already cast their ballots. However, that is comparable to Romney's 51% to 46% lead among all likely voters in Gallup's Oct. 22-28 tracking polling. At the same time, the race is tied at 49% among those who have not yet voted but still intend to vote early, suggesting these voters could cause the race to tighten. However, Romney leads 51% to 45% among the much larger group of voters who plan to vote on Election Day, Nov. 6.

... For example, here's what we know about Ohio's early voting numbers, thus far:

But here is what we do know: 220,000 fewer Democrats have voted early in Ohio compared with 2008. And 30,000 more Republicans have cast their ballots compared with four years ago. That is a 250,000-vote net increase for a state Obama won by 260,000 votes in 2008.

Something else in this Gallup survey also helps shed some light on what we're seeing in these sometimes counter-intuitive state polls. As the headline states, Gallup is showing that only 15% of the public has already voted. Moreover, they've broken down early voting by region and show that in the Midwest only 13% of voters have already voted. And yet, many polls in places like Ohio show a much higher percentage of early voters, some as high as 30%, which you can bet skews the data. In other words, those polls can't be correct.

Other than the fact that this is Gallup, another reason to embrace this poll is due to its very large sample size of 3,312 registered voters.

Well, it seems the journ-O-lists have been hiding another story.
For those on the Left... do you think they would bury it if it were Gore, Kerry or Obama?

Just another day at the office for the Propaganda Dept.
Who is their Tzar anyway?

Man I will honestly be pleasantly surprised if Romney wins. That would be one happy day, but I'm kind of expecting the worst. Since I'm in a red state, I'm voting for Gary Johnson.

Please don't. We need to bury Obama and his party deep.
A statement need be made.
A huge one.

I guess I'm still undecided in that aspect.

You want people to give up third party votes in decided states so that your party gets a larger margin of victory. Is there any reason for giving up a 3rd party vote that you will not embrace.

Libertarians and Greens will get votes. If the major parties want those votes (next time), they need to better address those issues. That's how it works, even without 5%.

Would you rather someone vote for Obama or Stein?

Only a few more days man, how do you see Obama winning just out of curiosity?

I don't see him winning. I said well over a year ago he would lose by about the same margin he won by.
Seems pretty accurate at the moment.

Though I enjoy the banter, tweaking the left and the laughs, it's time to use my time a little more wisely. Have too much to do, and DP has become a luxury I can't afford. Sticking around during the primaries and general election would act like a black hole, sucking time in large chunks.

My 2012 Prediction:
Of course... Obama's going to go the way of Carter, I hope he gets beaten like Mondale, but that type of drubbing isn't likely. I think he'll lose by about the same margin he won in 2008.

Obama's problem is he now has a record he cannot run from. Unlike 2008 he can't run from it, but it will be fun to watch him try, and of course continue to blame Bush 43.

I wish everyone good health and happiness.

Keep you chin up... America can be great again.

Be well Y'all. I look forward to sharing election day 2012 with everyone.

Cheers
Zim

I honestly dont care who wins. However, I know the instant Romney gets in office he will do nothing different than Obama. There will just be different people benefiting from his influence.

Time will tell.
They said the same about Reagan. He got most of what he wanted accomplished, and that what didn't get done need be done now. Ryan knows it, Romney knows it.

It will be interesting to watch the Commi-Lib base, the OWS protesters flip out.

Wont happen, because he won't have a super majority in either the house or the senate. The republicans have been playing obstructionists for the last 2 years so I assume the democrats will not be forgetting that any time soon.

Politics as usual, and despite what you think is best for this country, doing nothing (because of hyper partisan politics) is not the best course of action.

So what does your electoral map look like? Obama won by a pretty big margin, 192 electoral votes to be exact, what other battleground states besides Ohio do you see going to Romney and what traditionally democratic states do you see going to Romney as well? He'll need traditionally democratic states to beat Obama by the same or similar margin he won by as Obama won several traditional Republican states.

Due to Romney's liberal track record as governor, some saw this as a battle between 2 liberals.

Yet they voted out half a dozen tea-party types too. Perhaps that and the Kentucky earthquake are signs!

Maybe they didn't report it because it was inaccurate? Sorry Zim
