Biden: Republicans voted for a $500 trillion tax cut for 120,000 families

“They voted to extend tax cuts for the very wealthy, giving* $500 trillion tax cut to 120,000 families,” Biden said today, emphasizing every syllable of* “$500 trillion.” Biden was apparently referring to the Republican effort to extend the Bush tax cuts for all income levels.

I feel like somebody in the audience should have re-enacted that scene from Austin Powers...

"Bwahahahahahaha! Dr. Evil! This is 1969! That amount of money doesn't even EXIST!! Bawahahahaha!"

Give the guy a break.

He was only off by like four or five decimal points.

Guys, he's talking about the supposed "5 trillion" tax cut, over a thousand years instead of over ten.

Just a rough guess on my part, but with a tax cut like that the entire US population wouldn't have to pay taxes for 150 years.

har har.

trololololololooooo

Holy crap, and we're STILL $16 Trillion in debt?

Quick, write a check before the bank closes, Joe. We'll be debt free!

He does this like....every day. He's lost it.

.....and not only do the elite families of the US of A obtain massive tax breaks and advantages, they then pull their money and investments OUT of the US to tax havens where almost no tax is paid. These great American patriotic families who as we speak prefer to employ people in other nations and prefer foreign banks

Have you noticed what sort of economy the USA has become since Reagan began its destruction into a fake paper shuffling stock market scam of derivatives and loan bubbles? The only manufacturing sector in the USA that hasn't shrunk is the military industrial complex, almost entirely funded by the tax payer to make weapons for corporately driven resource wars.

Good luck

Wow, not only did you swallow the bait and the hook, you jumped in the damn boat by yourself.

Geezus...can you imagine if Sarah Palin said this?

But I don't know who's stupider...Biden for saying it, or the Obamabots for booing at that nasty "$500 trillion tax cut for 120,000 people" because they're incapable of critical thinking and don't even realize how dumb he is, they just bob their heads in agreement with what they hear.

This is the same guy who called Ohio "Iowa". And this guy is qualified to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency?

Hey, it's how people come up with those numbers for "unfunded mandates."

Are you saying that the elite pay their fair share of tax in the USA? Lol

Lets look at some facts. In 1955 the average income for the top 400 Income earners in the USA was about 13 million dollars per year (each) Who paid on average 52% tax. By 2007 this had climbed to over 300 million dollars per year each but the tax rate had declined to a mere 18%.

Now the 1950s were considered to be the golden era of prosperity and high standard of living in the USA, and yet the top 400 income earners paid 52% tax on an average earning of 13 million dollars per year. The top tax rate at that time was 92%.

Where is the trickle down economics effect? Can anyone see it?

The elite in the USA have become so greedy that they will shift jobs and capital out of the USA just for an extra 0.1% return on their tax avoiding capital. They also shift capital and jobs out of the USA for ideological reasons, to circumvent environmental legislation or to politically crush democratic union movements etc.

I suggest that you check out what the Catepillar corporation did the 1980s and is still doing now to crush their own American work force who were demanding safe work places, secure employment and wage increases that match the inflation rate.

This is a standard fascist corpocratic tactics used by many corporate tyrannical structures in the USA. And the puppet clown state in the US congress supports this totalitarian instrument of slavery.

Good luck with your voting decision - you have two corporately owned puppets to choose from
