Perhaps Obama's brains (Valerie Jarrett) thought it would make Obama look stupid if, after months of claiming that "al Qaeda is on the run" after the death of bin Laden, it turned out that al Qaeda was alive and well, and metastasizing again. Simple, and simple-minded, politicizing and CYA to cover more bad judgment by The One. Remember, this administration has a lot of trouble correctly identifying "terrorists" and "terrorism."

They killed four people, not exactly a military force to be reckoned with, it shows nothing about their strength. A kid in a movie thearte can kill more than that. I think if Obama screwed up anything he should have mad a bigger deal out of sending in the Marines and kicking some butt, he would have gotten a couple of points boost out of the armchair Republican warhawks alone.

I did not misinterpret what you said; the claim I made is consistent with the post that I refuted you with. In other words, the post you just quoted was an explanation for "he is still one of the most brave, respectful, and caring individuals in the nation and wouldn't for a second consider letting himself give this job less than 100% of all he's got." I'd say that for any president. Get it? And honestly, the fact that he has such a strenuous job and you refuse to give him credit for his redeeming traits still is disrespectful.

Now, even if this bravado is all correct, it doesn't mean you have a clue about all the events in this situation.

Obama Administration Watched Them Die And Denied Their Request For Help [W:84]

Regardless of whether Obama had political motivations, have we determined whether he had sufficient resources to respond to the threat? For example, sending an F-16 to strafe the area sounds good in theory, but to do so Obama would have had to reduce his fighting effectiveness elsewhere; undoubtedly, doing so could have led to even more deaths.

So before we get into strategy and politics, let's focus on logistics: did Obama have any reasonable way to respond to the threat? Considering that it was in his self interest to keep the SEALs alive, it is unlikely that anything but a logistical failure caused additional units to be unavailable.

Whether the logistical failure was foreseeable, however, I don't know. However, it is extremely unlikely that Obama deliberately chose to allow a scandal of this magnitude to occur solely for his own sadistic pleasure.

    Exactly.

When Americans die in a foreign country, the president should be impeached.

I am hoping that the President-Elect asks the CIA Director to stick around awhile so we can find out exactly what happened.

So, in your opinion, torture is worse than killing people indiscriminantly? Drone attacks were nowhere near at the level they are now under Bush. To say they were is either ignorant or lying.
