The Taliban do not believe in a woman's right to choose according to their version of Islam. The extreme wing of the Republican Party holds the same view as espoused by Romney-Ryan, Mourdoch, Akin, and Mandel. That said, how many women will still vote for the R-R ticket based on their claim that they will somehow "better the economy"? Will women vote for them based on their promises of a better economic future while at the same time they will lose their rights as women? The RP claims they want a smaller government but at the same time want a bureaucracy that will control a woman's right to choose. I believe this is called hypocrisy.

The far right who support Romney and who Romney supports is one of the reasons I am shying away from him. I have conservative values but nothing that leans me to the far right. These right extremists he surrounds himself with scare me.

Edited to add....even though I disagree with these guys I would not put them in the same category as Taliban....that is being extreme.

Comparing the Republican party to the Taliban is kind of ridiculous.

Wow....Pseudo-Godwin.

Comparing the Repulicans to the Taliban based off one similar aspect regarding abortion law is as retarded as comparing the Democrats to Nazi's due to similar aspects regarding health care. Both are ridiculous naive, ignorant methods of looking at a situation in a banal sort of way, grabbing similarities that are not largely related to the primary reasons negative emotions are flared up when the groups are stated, and then making the correlation on these issues as a means of tieing the two groups together in hopes of transferring the extreme negative reactions of one onto the other.

Pathetic debate tactic is pathetic.

And liberals believe in the right to kill unborn children, as did Hitler and the Nazis.

See how that works?

Can a liberal be pro-life or a conservative be pro-choice?

I think it's just about spot on (except for the killing)
Maybe you should spend a little time in the tribal regions of Pakistan. You know, just to verify.

Here, let me entertain you and the others:

Now these are the radicals.

Both oppose science
both want to take over the world with only their religion
Both anti-gay
Both Religious fanatics
Both Xenophobic of others that are not like them
Both fear change (progression)
Both instill fear
Both anti-choice when it comes to women
Both have hard-ons for guns
Both believe in torture as punishment
Both believe there is only one god

ok, that should keep you busy for a bit.
Feel free to add to the list.

Both often wear shoes.
Both can perceive the same portion of the electromagnetic spectrum.
Both made primarily of carbon.
Both blink regularly.
Both incapable of unpowered flight.
Both think this comparison is absurd.

The Obama Administration & Co. only believe in people's right to choose them. Not in their right to choose a gun, or choose whether or not to have insurance, or whether or not to help others voluntarily and not by government compulsion, and so on......

Trying to equate the GOP with the Taliban speaks volumes about the source of the OP IMO.

Very good list. Right wing extremists = taliban mind.

Question: R-R ticket is really anti gay, but why did a gay rights group endorse them?

its funny that the people in the USA who spend the most time defending the Taliban and excusing their murderous escapades are not the American Right but the loony left.

Because they think gay rights are going to come anyway, and Republicans have better policies in other areas.

I have a dream... a fervent hope that when this election is finally over, the level of mindless uber-partisan hackery on DP will decline somewhat.

zimmer will disappear again, so it will.

So it's the Taliban or the Nazis?

It does, I was around for the 06, 08 and 2010 elections

Considering the Taliban are conservatives, that's funny.

No one is defending the loony Taliban. That's old conservative propaganda.

Well personally, I think all religious extremists in every religion are damn tight in the same category. I'd say they should stored as binders of nuts.

those ambivalent about american primacy tend to adopt rather strange allies in their jihad against their own country
