GOP Voter Fraud Accusations Suddenly Blowing Up In Their Faces

OHMYGOD!! Fifteen whole improper votes in ten years!! Our whole system is destroyed!! Oh wait, fifteen votes won't even affect who wins a race for county clerk, let alone anything national like a senator or president. And these fifteen votes weren't even in the same race if they were split over ten years. If that's all the fake votes that are cast over a decade, then we have an amazingly accurate system.

How do you square that with the 11% of American citizens who don't have ID?

Fifteen cases, Smarty Pants, not 15 improper votes. The fact is that there should be no loopholes for fraud -- at the polls by the pollsters, during the registration process, and in the voting booth. You don't agree. I get that. I'm willing to live with it.

Actually, I do agree. I just don't think that stopping millions of American citizens from lawfully voting is the way to do it. And you shouldn't either.

And exactly where did I say that? Really? The opposition to tightening our voter registration/poll conduct has taken on the mantra of "Your RACIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Just put different words in the same tune.

I didn't mention race. I just said that a lot of American citizens who can lawfully vote will be denied that right by ID laws. And it's not just racial minorities that are targeted. It's the elderly and a lot of students, too. And I said, if someone wants to hold poll workers more responsible for their actions, or put in place systems to verify votes, that's fine. But stopping people from voting is not the answer.
