If the GOP and Romney is involved, it stinks. Looks like "Tagg" Romney (what the hell kind of name is that), Romney's son and heir, is an owner of the company that provides the voting machines in Ohio. Just a coincidence?
In fact, after Romney's defeat in the 2008 nominationi, "Tagg" went to work investing in the company, and it isn't obscure why.

Romney's interest in the Ohio voting system should be thoroughly investigated and watchdogged. It's clear that the GOP can no longer win elections fairly due to changing demographics and its war on women, so now they want to buy the machinery of voting.

Yeah there is an identical thread on this. Message of the Day must have hung up in the spam filter.

this is not true They had this on the Ed show last night Tag owns shares in a company that has a minor interest in a company that makes voting machines. They calculated his actual monetary involvement as less than 10% of the total profits of the machine company.

A 10% interest is a control group in most companies.

In any case, elections not only have to be fair, but have to appear fair. Now they don't.

Just so we're clear, he owns stock in a company which owns stock in another company?

::YAWN::

Per this Washington Post article expanding on the same story as the OP, Tagg owns a private equity firm called Solamere which is an investor to HIG Capital which is owned by former Bain Capital employees who are close to Mitt Romney who are bundlers to his campaign and also invested in Hart InterCivic, the Austin-based voting machine company that made the voting machines that are currently used in some counties in Ohio. Did you get all that? If not, read the article. There's also this article by Forbes.com covering the same story but in even greater detail than the Washington Post article.

I say voters AND Pres. Obama legitimately should be concerned about this.

It certainly is suspicious, especially in light of other voter irregularities in Ohio in 2004, and in light of the larger voting fraud investigation against GOP operatives that have reached such a pitch that the RNC has had to distance itself from longstanding relationships with companies its used for registration for years.

Again, the appearance of fairness is almost as importance as fairness in an election, and this is being undermined by the GOP.

I'm sure this company is now a corrupt GOP backer , providing direct aid to defraud US elections in all the states they have hardware in.

don't concern your self with the fact that Hart has been in the election materials business since 1912.... don't concern yourself that their hardware has passed state reviews in such conservative strongholds as ..California and Washington

Don't concern yourself over HIG Capital.. i'm sure they are corrupt Romney lackeys as well... I mean, who wouldn't risk 8.5 billion dollars in capital business, and the reputation of their business,( in addition to the 100 year old election materials business) in order to help an old friend whose running for President....i'm sure the evil cabal over there is thinking " we can do what we want, nobody will ever make the connection between Tagg and MItt, we have the perfect condition to make all the machines register votes for Mitt, and nobody will ever think to come looking at his Son... this is a bulletproof voter fraud scheme, my friends.. let's go ahead and put the 8.5 billion and our livelihood on the line and run with it."

they are smart enough to create and build a business with 8.5 billion in capital, but not smart enough to come up with a voter fraud scheme that can't be seen through by a 6 year old
color me convinced of their evilness.

let's not concern ourselves with the difference between investing in and managing production... nah, those things are exactly the same
why just yesterday, through my ownership of stock in Exxon, I was able to call them up and have them build a new rig in the Gulf of Mexico.
I-pad 6... yeah, that's mine... I totally controlled that lil project too.... that's the power of investing, my liberal friends...invest in company and you get to call the production shots like a boss.

no, it's being undermined by the mental giants who think they have unearthed a shocking scandal/conspiracy

go ahead.. show us the voter irregularities from these machines.... it should be easy, beings they are used in Texas, Hawaii , Oklahoma, Washington , Colorado, Ohio, California, , Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

we'll wait.

I'm sure most people reading this thread are very much aware that Hart InterCivic has been making voter machines for some time and that their machinces go through rigorous testing. But that's not the point here.

The point is there are highly influencial people in key positions up and down the voting process - voting machine manufacturer, campaign contributors, corporate board members and the son of the Republican presidential nominee - are all in unique positions to ensure that their guy wins the presidency. Just the appearance of impropriety should be enough to make folk's ears perk up.

There has been voter machine tampering in the past; it could very well happen again. And with the number of people so heavily invested w/these companies who also have a keen interest in seeing that Mitt Romney wins the presidency, this should be something that concerns us all if you're for free and open elections.

Whoosh, right over your head.

I'm sure if Obama owned a stake in the company, you'd be freaking out and have tin foil on your head. Admit it!

So can you provide evidence of voter irregularities or not?

1st, don't project your mentality onto me... we are not made of the same mold .

2nd, I would not have any problem with it, provided Obama's investments were though a blind trust, as is the requirement for Presidents.

3rd, why are you comparing Tagg to Obama?.. is Tagg running for President?... is Tagg held to the same personal investment requirements the President is?
maybe a better comparison would be Obama's daughters?.. and if that were the case, I'd say " good investment, the company has a long and reputable legacy of providing needed elections equipment and materials"
my first reaction is not to go looking to create a scandal or concoct a conspiracy... I leave that to you and your ilk.

You can't provide such evidence until after the election is held. That's like calling voter fraud when no one has cast a ballot yet.

the company has a long history... i'm sure there must be something there to make you guys believe in this conspiracy... right?

So this thread is about anticipatory voter fraud then.

Never said it was a conspiracy...just that it's an interesting story with an interesting cast of characters whose close associations and collective interests is enough to make you take interest.

Yup, it sure seems like you were kidding. Thread title did not lie.

the only thing that makes me take interest is in the characters making hay over the whole thing.

seeing it as an interesting story is fine... but there are those who wander off into tinfoil land rather quickly ( and these are the ones who make it entertaining)

Romney owns all of the voting machines, Obama is a Muslim from Kenya, etc, etc, blah blah blah.

That would be pretty awesome if this were true... Romney would have balls the size of Texas to pull off something like this, damn maybe he should be president.

Ummm- to the op- we have a conspiracy theory forum you should check out. ;)

The US election votes for 26 states are going to be counted in Spain and you're worried about T. Romney's tiny ownership in a company that makes voting machines. You're calling for the CIA, FBI, Justice Department and Homeland security to investigate Romney? Aren't they the same clowns that allowed a Spanish company to buy SOE? Are you for real?

"When the Spanish online voting company SCYTL bought the largest vote processing corporation in the United States, it also acquired the means of manufacturing the outcome of the 2012 election. For SOE, the Tampa based corporation purchased by SCYTL in January, supplies the election software which records, counts, and reports the votes of Americans in 26 states 900 total jurisdictions across the nation." 1 The fact that the same company will have first count on all votes made in 14 US states and hundreds of jurisdictions in 12 others, and the stage is set for election fraud on a scale unimaginable just a decade ago. SCYTL self-proclaimed the security of its systems, but when the machines were used in the District of Columbia, the University of Michigan fight song "The Victors" was suddenly heard after the casting of each ballot. The system had been hacked by U of M computer teachers and students, in order to demonstrate their susceptibilities.
