The insta-polls are in...

from article of nonsense..

Obama’s advantage probably comes in part because some of the personnel are political appointees of his administration, said Peter Feaver, a political science professor at Duke University in Durham, N.C., who has studied military personnel and their impact on elections

all you did was beclown yourself... are you not seeing that? Bobcat did not say they use them on the frontline of war.. but horses are used...and bayonettes are part of every soldiers aarsonal..

So? Obama did not say we have no horses and bayonets. He said, we have fewer. He was obviously right.

Intrade seems to think that Romney was the winner last night. The figures below are the tightest I've seen since the beginning. Intrade doesn't own any more crystal balls than I do but I take themm seriously since these are cash based bets, not just jibber-jabber.

I am NOT making a political statement. Just providing information.

Mitt Romney to be elected President in 2012
41.5%
CHANCE
Last prediction was: $4.15 / share
Today's Change: +$0.18 (+4.5%)

Barack Obama to be re-elected President in 2012
58.8%
CHANCE
Last prediction was: $5.88 / share
Today's Change: -$0.20 (-3.3%)

Noticed that, too. I was surprised.

Kinda makes a liar out of your statement

How does any of that make me a liar?

How were they used in Afghanistan again?

Care to retrack?

No I do not care to retract. What I would care for, if for you to try and read what you quote or put more effort into comprehending it.

Although the glory days of the United States Cavalry are long gone, horses still serve the military. At Smith Lake Stables, adjacent to Fort Bragg, N.C., 36 horses are owned by the U.S. government and serve their country in two assignments. In one assignment, they act as equine ambassadors, linking the civilian public to the military. The horses are used in an annual summer camp program and in weekly day camp activities for home-schooled kids. But the horses’ most important role is their real job. They help prepare active duty personnel, particularly Army Special Forces troops, for challenges in foreign countries.

You must have missed that part. The statement is then supported in the very next paragraph, and the next.

“The first time we used our horses to train Special Forces was right after 9/11,” explains Mark Rossignol, business manager for Smith Lake Stables. Fort Bragg is home to the U.S. Army’s Special Operations Forces. “They were being sent to Afghanistan, and often the only way they can travel over there is by horse.”

The rocky terrain found in remote areas of Afghanistan isn’t easy to traverse, even by jeep. Native horses become a mode of transportation. Pack animals, especially donkeys, also become familiar partners. For some of America’s elite troops, however, knowledge of horses and their four-legged relatives isn’t familiar territory. The first time they actually halter a horse, saddle it and ride it may be at Smith Lake Stables

So then you have nothing with which to rebut? The military obviously does not "hate" Obama which is the point to which I was responding.

Again, the wrinkled children at the VFW are not necessarily representative of the military.

again.. it was a bogus line to try to paint Mitt as some old man who is out of touch.. it backfired.. we also use less shotguns and Pistols..less landmines and muskets...

Only snarky Libs think that shrill line was a winner.... it was to paint Mitt as out of touch.. it was a loser of a line..

your article was BS.. if you think the military supports Obama I have a bridge to sell you..

I think a Sesame Street parody is in order.

"Can you tell me how to get, how to get from Iran to the sea?"

Mitt is using the military for the promise of jobs they provide. It is a stupid thing to do and his demands that he alone knows what the military needs in conjunction with his reckless threats on Ahmadinejad and China represent a return to the Cowboy diplomacy of Bush. We don't need that and I would be surprised if it plays well for very long with voters.

Romney is out of touch in every way. I expect that will be a theme in the coming weeks and it will probably prove effective in holding off his late surge.

Please lets call the brave soldiers at the VFW brave american heros..and not "wrinkled children"????? its an odd wording and not accurate..

Yeah, the point was to deflect the claim that they hate Obama or overwhlemingly support Romney. Clearly, they do not and your weak attempt at dismissing the entirety of the information provided based on one possible factor shows desperation and a lack of objectivity.

You guys want them to hate Obama and love Romney and so you are deluded into believing it.

I have been to the halls many times. I am talking about one specific subset, i.e., the wrinkled children. They are very vocal, but not necessarily representative. They create a certain dynamic which tends to skew perception. That is, they tend to drive away the more moderate veterans and make the whole seem far more to the right than it is.

Why would I need luck? I am not personally invested in the outcome. The guy I am voting for is going to lose.

I do hope Romney is chastised for his reckless comments so that he backs down, again. That is so that In the off chance he wins his comments will not prove disruptive. I mean, I know he is just blowing smoke to fool a few tools in regards to China, but I am worried that he is serious about Iran. Who knows with etch-a-sketch, though.
