Obama's 2008 campaign was built on his vow to end the Bush tax cuts. For that to happen, all he had to do was nothing as they were to automatically expire. Having both the House and Senate, he could have established middle class tax cuts. He didn't. And instead he openly endorsed the Bush tax cuts and signed them into law as Obama's tax cuts to the super rich.

Thus, it is a false to call them "the Bush tax cuts." Bush did not endorse or sign their being extended. Under his bill, they would have expired and not exist anymore.

It was Obama, not Bush, that has given those tax breaks to the super rich - exactly opposite what he promised he'd do. They are the OBAMA tax cuts as it is OBAMA who signed them into law after endorsing them. NOW in 2012, his campaign promise (and raging) is against his own tax cuts including to the super rich that he, Obama, put into law.

How absurd and dishonest can any politician be than that?! Do you think the Obama tax cuts for the super rich should be repealed? Obama says that is his primary goal in 2013, to repeal the Obama tax cuts for the super rich he put into law after the 2008 election.

individual tax rates for every bracket should return to 1990s levels, in my opinion.

The OP is clearly wearing blinders. Obama vocally opposed extending the top Bush tax cuts last time they were set to expire and Democrats attempted to pass only the middle class tax cuts. He did not agree to extend them because he wanted them, but rather because Republicans were holding unemployment benefits, AMT extension, and payroll tax cuts hostage. They also vowed to block all legislation until the tax extension was resolved. Obama concluded that agreeing to a two year extension was the lesser of two evils.

I'm extremely disappointed with this as it was a primary platform item for me. Had anybody sensed the slowness of the recovery or the death of Ted Kennedy, perhaps this would have been re-prioritized in front of the affordable care act.

But let's be honest here, this was one of the items held hostage by the Grover Norquist cronies as the debt ceiling loomed. So, if you're trying to turn this into a flip-flop argument, you've got a big fat uphill battle.
